Question Concerning Interview

I know I'm probably getting ahead of myself since we haven't even received our NOA2 yet, but I want to make sure I'm prepared. I was reading over interview reviews from the United Kingdom and noticed that a very common question to be asked is whether or not we have met each other's families. My family has met Adam and they love him, but I have not met his in person yet. I was planning to attend his brother's wedding with him this summer, but with the backlog in passports, that didn't pan out.

I'm wondering if anyone here has sucessfully completed an interview without both parties meeting each others families? Do you guys think this will be a big problem?

Thanks again

I don't know if it will be a problem or not, but my fiance WAS asked at his interview in London (last week) if I had met his family. Its really up to the consular officer as to whether or not its a 'problem'.

Just have your fiance tell the truth (that you were planning on it this summer but the passport fiasco struck) - that's all you can really do. Though I've not heard of anyone (in London, anyway) being denied for such a reason.

I know it isn't London, however, in Montreal I was not asked if I had met my then fiance's family (I hadn't) or if he had met mine (he had), so it may vary from consulate to consulate. I certainly think that the passport situation is a realistic explanation about why you haven't met his family yet:-). I don't think it will be a problem.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Additionally, I think it could often be the case that one person of the couple has not met the other's family. How many cases are there that one person travels to the foreign country to meet the SO, and then...of course will often meet the family (or the non USC travels to the US)....My family has not met my fiance, however I have met his family. He has not been to the USA since we met, and my family certainly isn't going to travel to Germany to meet him.... I would add though, my family has tried to incorporate him already, knowing that i am in love with him. My sisters bought him and his son Christmas presents, and my mom sent him travel brochures from the state of montana....saying come on, come visit!! lol....so...but like I said, dont think it can be an issue.

So, I highly doubt this is an issue.
