Embassies not processing K1 Visas

Hi. The embassy in my country is closed and not processing any visas. And of course not giving interviews.

I was just wondering if this is the same in all countries. Also Im curious to know if this has to do with the immigration ban that was prolonged until December.

Does that mean we have to wait until december for interviews? Does the ban affect K1 Visas? Although the USCIS still processed our papers during this ban, the process seems to stop once it's time to send everything to the embassies. So Im confused. Any information will be appreciated.

Thank you

This has to do with the global COVID-19 pandemic. Embassies will open when the country decides they can be opened. Could be before December. Could be sometime next year. Department of state closed all US embassies and stopped routine visa processing in March. This was worldwide.

K1s are not affected by the presidential EO through December.  They are affected by the suspension of routine visa services

YMMV

Please complete your timeline. Embassies have been closed due to the worldwide pandemic...What immigration ban are you referencing? K1s are not affected by any ban currently. You are correct the process has stopped when it gets time to send everything to the embassy because most are closed..

Thanks for answering. We got the NOA 2  almost 2 months a go but no news from the NVC. Since embassies around the world have been closed since march, i started thinking maybe this was because of the immigration ban. Im glad its not. However they have no answers on when they will open so everything is like uncertain. We have to get used to significant delays for sure.

They'll open when the ambassadors and directors of consular services decide they can be opened.

Most of us have completed both a timeline and added our country that we will interview from in our profile. We can see both in their profiles in the left-hand column. I wanted to invite you to another thread that I think you would benefit from but with no timeline it's hard for me to volunteer that information. So.....

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks
