I wanted to chime in that US citizens are actually banned from adopting Russian children, so if that was even remotely on the OP's mind, it's not an option. I don't know if the OP was seriously considering that (or if it even makes sense in this kind of a situation) but here's some info on it for further reading: https://www.uscis.gov/adoption/country-information/adoption-information-russia

Quite frankly I feel very sorry for the kid here. OP stated he basically doesn't want any responsibility for the kid at all, but the kid is tied to the fiance whether he likes it or not. It's a package deal at this point: OP needs to either accept the fiance and the kid or leave this situation behind.

Have you considered cancelling this petition and letting things go where they will go ?  The ticking clock of the running K1 may cause you to make decisions that really need time and lord knows this relationship needs some time.   Cancel the K1 and then without that ticking in your ear let your hear what your head and heart really want to say.   As a woman with reproductive issues I can tell you it took lots of attempts to have my last child so I personally wouldn't buy it was only one night. There are however people that seem to be addicted to act of sex and need it with or without love involved.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

I commend the OP for his willingness to fix things & accept his fiance's child.

OP - are you 100% sure that your fiance is not planning to use you + the child as a path for her ex-boyfriend to come & live in the USA? I understand she told you that she had issues with her reproductive system, and I try not to assume the worst about strangers... But this forum has seen a lot of very elaborate scam stories... Just make sure that you protect yourself with all of the information you can gather. I think you should start by asking a lot of uncomfortable questions including suggesting moving to Russia until the child is born (so it doesn't get the US citizenship) and see how your fiance reacts.

Wish you all the best whatever you decide to do!

Would definitely tell her you’re moving to Russia and for her to have the kid there. Even have the kid grow up there to have contact with the biological father. Oh I’m sure she’ll love that plan.

One more thing to take into consideration here in regards to the immigration process. "IF" you decide to go along with this and "IF" you guys made it to the interview stage, once the Interviewing agent does the math she will have to 1 lie to the officer (immigration fraud) or 2 tell the truth, in which case a whole can of worms will be opened up.

Now keep in mind the officers are human also, so everything you are hearing here from all of these opinions, do not think that is not exactly what the agent will be thinking also.

Though they are supposed to think objectively and not emotionally they will severely question: validity, scam, etc... things such as this. It may go so far as to them questioning if this is not possibly a mutual scam as in both parties are involved i.e. the OP and the Beneficiary. This would be a very hard sell.

These days don’t we hear about polyamory all the time?

That is totally different than cheating.  Both partners need to agree to a polyamorous relationship.  OP clearly did not know or agree to his situation.

No, meaning Green card fraud as in both parties are on board i.e. the Petitioner and Beneficiary both know that they have no intentions of a good faith marriage and each is using the other. This may be a equation in the mind of the interviewing agent as  I am sure it will not be laid out in the interview as it is here with the petitioner making it clear he was un-aware, etc.....

Correct,. Putin enacted the ban in 2012 in response to a Obama era Human rights law.. It's very unfortunate really, with over 20% of Russian Women being single Mothers, forced to work while the grandparent(s) raise their children, and the fathers are nowhere to be found.

Getting back on topic, It makes me wonder if this Woman is using the OP in order to immigrate to the US, later Divorce and then file a I-130 Alien Relative for the biological Father.. Maybe others can chime in on the legal possibility of that happening.
