Hello everyone,

Is it important in the NVC stage to have the passport number of the foreigner? As my fiancé was looking at form DS-160 and saw that. However, what if my fiancé cannot get a passport due to the pandemic the offices being closed. Is it possible to leave it blank but add a letter from the officials stating that? Thanks :)

You will need a passport for the DS-160.  You will have to wait for the passport if the beneficiary does not have one yet.
