Is it only if the child has applied for the parent? Like in our case, I am the petitioner who has applied for my fiancé but we do have a child together who is a US Citizen and is under 21

Then your fiance qualifies for the exemption. Contact Frankfurt at FrankfurtVisaInquiries@state.gov

US citizens (or LPRs) under 21 years old cannot petition for relatives anyway.  So the consulate would not expect your child to be the petitioner.  Just the fact that your fiance has an unmarried US citizen child under 21 exempts him from the ban.

Okay thank you so much for clarifying... I don’t know why but I was so confused....

im also the parent of a USA citizen and waiting on my K1 visa. Could you possibly share any advice on how I can expedite my visa?
