So, my son is a dual Filipino American citizen. If he was going to go to the Philippines and stay say for an extended period does he need his Philippines passport or can we get him one in the Philippines with his USA passport? Getting him a Philippines passport is very hard and requires us to go to California (talk about irritating)

I hope someone's has some clarification on this. Also, I did order a birth certificate for him that proves he's registered with the Philippines, so it's easy enough to prove he's a filipino. (still waiting for it)

You need to go to the consulate after receiving his report of birth to request a passport.  You can also wait to see if there is an outreach event that is more convenient to you.

Using the U.S. passport he can stay in the Phils for 1 year (minus a day) with a BB stamp in his passport.

Make sure to have the PSA copy of his birth certificate.    If you ordered it to be delivered by mail .. don't hold your breath on it arriving, having it delivered by FedEx gets it done (Ask Cyberfox)

Yes his Philippine passport can be obtained while in the Philippines.   Even though he is a dual citizen by birth it is very likely DFA will ask for a recognition of citizenship (this is obtained from Bureau of Immigration), I know of a few where this has happened simple because they were born in the USA.

No they don't.   They can acquire the passport while in the Philippines.

I did order it by mail. So if I probably won't get it how do I go about getting it? I don't know of anyway to get it besides the website.

Considering everything is pretty much delayed because of covid that's not likely to happen.

This is laid out pretty good here:

Once you pay for it online. You have to go online and make a Fedex account and a shipping label for it to be sent to the US.  Once you do that you then have to send a email to: Info2@psaserbilis.com.ph. The email contents are as below:

Paid Batch Number: 0694-3003-1200-0100

Active FEDEX Account Number: 981088450

Active FEDEX Account Name: Love her

Delivery Type: Priority Delivery

Cosignee Name and Delivery Address:

Love Her

123 Lane Rd.

Sanford NC, 27332

So, you said to create a shipping label, but the PSA site says that they will just charge my fedex account. I just want to make sure I do it correctly. I just provide the info and they bill my account?

Just wanted to make sure. The Philippines changes things or sometimes has odd policies. Always good to double check.

I emailed the support center after ordering it and haven't heard a thing. FedEx hasn't charged anything yet either. I sure wish they'd respond!
