People fly into any POE and continue on to their final destination all the time.  Many people live in cities with no POE, airlines don’t offer flights from the originating country to that city or for pricing.

Short answer is you can enter any place you like, including Guam or Puerto Rico.  Flying to San Francisco and continuing to LA is not unusual in any way.

And yeah, that actually makes sense. I'm torn with all the flights being cancelled and stuff. Thanks for the input.

What is the process like at POE for those entering on K1 and K2 visas? How much time do we need between connecting flights?

I would allow as much time as possible, especially if missing a connecting flight is going to be a hardship.

There is definitely processing of the K-1 at POE.  My husband's K-1 port of entry was actually at a land border crossing between Canada and the US (after flying from NZ to Vancouver), and even then it took time.  Our particular CBP agent had never processed a K-1 before, so that added a bit of time.  We were out of there in under an hour, and of course there was no connecting flight issue.

Our experience was was easy- you do fingerprints, they tell you you have to get married within 90 days, welcome to America and send you to secondary. We waited a long time there- not many people but many issues going on- when they called my husband they took his packet maybe asked a few questions and we were off.

I suggest 3 hours minimum. That’s what we had and we would have missed our connecting flight if it wasn’t for a jetblue lady who came in secondary asking if anyone was flying jetblue and checked in w us periodically. She took our bag- we basically bypassed customs and we had to run to the next terminal (different building) and got there just as they were boarding. Good memories lol. With a kid I suggest as much time as possible. If husband was alone he would have missed the flight because he wouldn’t have known what to do.

Hi everyone! I have a quick inquiry. Do we need to enter via the same city as where our petitioner is? Like my husband is in SFO. Can I enter thru LA? Won't it pose me for more questioning? Thanks!

No that would be impossible- there are only two POEs from my husbands country. Not all countries are created equal in where they fly to .

When you come in through POE with an immigration visa, not many questions are asked like with tourist visas.  As long as you don’t have guns or drugs, you’re fine.

LAX has posed a issue for some girls from Philippines. I  have first hand experience where the CBP tried to get two girls to return to Philippines.  My buddy who had an arrest for fighting the CBP officer brought this up and had her crying.  While this is not normal protocol, It did kind make me angry when I was told about it.

Were they on an immigrant visa?

I'm not sure what you mean by only two POE's in your husband's country. I was specifically referring to POE's in America.

Flights from Haiti arrive at only 2 airports in the USA is what I am saying. The chances of us living in one of those 2 cities cities are pretty thin.

have atleast 3-4 hours at the minimum. Dependeing on the number of flights arriving at the same time, lines can stretch longer.

duh
