Are you saying that people who are undocumented don't learn the language, assimilate and work their tails off? That is not my experience out here. I grew up with people whose parents were (and may still be, I have no idea) undocumented, and their parents learned English, became part of the community and worked hard. Very hard. They wanted their kids to live the American Dream, just like most parents here do. That's painting millions of people with an awfully broad brush, Nature Boy.

And I live where there is a LARGE community of people who refuse to learn the language or assimilate.   While I have no firsthand knowledge of their immigration status, I suspect the majority are here illegally.  They can't even speak good enough english to allow them to function very well.  A good example is Uber drivers (easy to sneak into that job) that can't even understand "left", "right", "turn here", etc.  Ridiculous, especially when they have been here for years.

And I'm not talking about 10 or 15 peeps.  More like thousands. Yes, it's a broad brush, and for a very good reason.  It's reality.  NY, FL, AR, GA, NC, and to a smaller extent, AL. Not all immigrants are willing to assimilate.

Illegal immigration is the inherent illegal act disregarding another country's laws and customs. It is a hostile act ignoring the sovereign rights of another. It's no different than people coming onto your property and deciding to stay regardless of what you want. You would not be talking about how amazing and hard working they are, you'd be doing everything to get them the hell off as their presence is an affront to you. That's illegal immigration, no matter how its spun.

There's many millions more illegals than is suggested on paper, if what I saw throughout Central and Northern California is any indicator. The idea that some people don't want to specifically know how many illegals there are (remove the question from census), and furthermore count them as representation for their own state, tells of a very dangerous intent. Illegals have no right to be represented because they are illegally present. States trying to use illegals to fluff their own electoral votes should lose them, no playing games.

Most of them are. That's sort of the way the world is. :) Most people ARE good and want to do right by themselves, their families and their communities. This is not to say I support open borders or anything, because I do not, and I think I've been clear about that. But to assume everyone or even the majority of people who are here who are undocumented are hiving themselves off from American society, refusing to learn English, and lolling about in the sun all day without working their butts off is to assume that most people are leeches.

This country is full of good people of every color and religion and philosophy and nationality and on and on and on. There are also plenty of horrible and mediocre people in all of those categories. But think of your own life, and the people you interact with. Most of them are good, even if they make mistakes and are selfish and horrible and let you down from time to time. You and I are individuals, but we're also part of a greater society. America. And this is a good place at its heart, because it's made up of good people. My dad and I may disagree on politics, but he's a deeply moral person whom I respect. Even horrible old Voldy, who treated me like trash, isn't a completely terrible person. I don't even think Trump is rotten through and through; I truly believe he loves his family. (Or most of them, sorry Tiffany. :P)

I prefer to work from the assumption that most people are good. It may be optimistic, and I may be let down more than I like. And there are plenty of bad people out there. But there's nothing out there to say that undocumented people are more lazy or less likely to integrate than those who come here legally. I judge people by who they are as individuals, not by whatever class I want to sort them into.

Most people want to be good, and then they simply break the laws of a country?  That seems counterintuitive,  but considering how things have changed recently I guess it is understandable.  Today, rock throwing, attacking others, and starting fires, etc. are considered peaceful, words against the Democrat regime is considered violent, and arrests are now kidnappings.

Sad you need a memo for common cents

It's "sense" not "cents".....everyone here is saying "THEY" should learn the English language" but the very first post on this page...the language was wrong (your ENGLISH was wrong and you're American right? ) So, I guess English is a little harder to learn than you think......
