administrative processing during COVID

hello to everyone and hope everyone is safe!

My story is:

I had an interview in Jan 30 2020 and was refused under 221g for further administrative processing. I'm not sure what was th reason ( im guessing because my fiance is ex military and I have visited the US three times during our relationship). It had been two months of AP when the embassy shut down because of covid. It's still closed and my medical expires this week. And it's been already year since we filed the petition.

I am so lost, confused and devastated, tired of waiting and of unknown future. Haven't seen husband to be in a year already.

What would you recommend hiring an attorney for a lawsuit or just wait? Is there anyone in the same situation? What are your thoughts on this mess?

An attorney would be useless.....a lawsuit would be useless.........Your fiance being ex-military and your visits are not the reasons for AP.  Please fill in your timeline.  Knowing your home country would be useful and might provide valuable information.

First, I would email the consulate and ask for a current status.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

ops sorry, forgot to mention my country.

My fiance ( petitioner) is of course a us citizen and I am from Russia. As far as I know Russia is not included in the list of countries they are most alerted about.

Petitioned filed July 2019

Approved petition November 2019

Interview and medical January 2020

Last update of the case is March 19 2020 the day when they sent my passport back and closed down due to the covid outbreak.

I keep emailing them and all they say is that they aren't processing immigrant or non immigrant visas. So frustrating.

I understand the anxiety.  Hopefully, they will resume normal processing soon.  Then you can get another medical, and proceed.  Good luck.

I am going through something similar but a little worse as we have been in administrative processing for over 16 months now. My fiancé’s interview was in March 2019. I really am sorry you are going through this and understand how you feel. I hope you hear something good real soon and are re-United with your husband :) positive vibes your way

Omg since March 2019.... that's way too long. Have you considered an attorney?

Yes I really have to file the writ of mandamus. I actually posted about it just last night on here. However, a lot of people were suggesting I wait some more instead of filing the writ of mandamus. I don’t know what to do anymore to be honest. It’s very exhausting and frustrating

Administrative Processing cannot be waived or expedited.  An attorney would be a waste of money.

A WOM only pushes a decision sooner......not always a positive outcome.

How come they (attorneys) claim to " get your cases out of AP" and blah blah?((

They lie........simple as that.  They have no effect on AP.  AP is a wide ranging term for actions occurring inside, as well as outside, US agencies.  Background checks can take a long time.
