President Trump on Monday tweeted for the first time a photograph of himself wearing a mask and described the practice as a patriotic act amid the coronavirus pandemic.  

“We are United in our effort to defeat the Invisible China Virus, and many people say that it is Patriotic to wear a face mask when you can’t socially distance,” Trump tweeted Monday afternoon, referring to the coronavirus, which the president regularly points out originated in Wuhan, China.

“There is nobody more Patriotic than me, your favorite President!” he added.

I think it's about time. Personally, I am happy to see Trump leading by example here. We need it.

Call me "unpatriotic", but it's not patriotic, and I don't respect him for this. It's not a long term lesson of how to be healthy or care for one another, it's unequivocally a sign of compliance. There are a litany of ways to both avoid exposure and prevent pathogenic transmission which should be practiced normally anyways. Trump has basically caved. Not good.

Agree. I dont get why so many are wiged about it. He said wear it if you cant social distance.
