Question about checklist

Working on putting together my file to send out next month and I have a question...hopefully it's not a too stupid one...

Anyways..I was looking at the checklist and when it mentions copies of tax returns, leases and bank accounts...do they have to be for all the past 3 years or just the most recent ones? I am mainly asking about leases...hubby and I moved 3 times since 2004 and it is a pain to go and dig out the old contracts  ..but if it has to be done I guess I'll do it.

Also..we currently have changed bank accounts and I am not on the new one yet...do you think this could be a problem? We no longer have the old 2 joint accounts...do I still have to send old bank statements for the last 3 years?

Thanks in advance for your help! (F)

If you have 3 years of tax return transcripts that should be enough. They are free from the IRS and you can get them a week or two after calling their automated system. According to the checklist item #4, the transcript for 3 years is enough to satisfy the entire requirement of item #4. You don't need to also supply bank account info if you already have the transcripts. At least that's how I interpret the checklist. That might be easier if your bank records are difficult to get.
