Are they actually interviewing people though, or just checking paperwork  and giving VISAs?

I did my actual spousal interview yesterday. I'm not sure what you mean by checking paperwork and giving visas tho. Sorry

In another thread @Maria Donna said she showed her expedite acceptance email to St Luke's and was able to do her medical. Then she emailed the embassy many times telling them her medical was complete and they got back to her in 2 days and scheduled an interview.

I saw this thread too. Mine was not expedited and they called me twice (there first interview date was just ridiculous, called me June 28 for a July 1 sked, I need to fly in btw). So yeah, maybe other people call in after doing their medical?

Hi, where did you called? Which number? Did you call first or sent out an email to them? Did u file an expedite?

No we did not do an expedite been DQd for 3 months

If you need a medical exam then you can do a walk in anytime

Cr1/IR1 applicants  just call the general embassy number listed.to set up an interview date; more people had luck calling than emailing

Fly directly from Philippines to Los Angeles to avoid any immigration/COVID hassles .

Does St. Lukes allowed walk in medial exam even without interview date? They are not requiring an online appointment?

Another question too, which province you from @Clarks2021? Did you encountered any problem passing through from your province to St. Lukes and US Embassy Manila? Your inputs will be a big help to us.

Yes my wife verified that prior to her departing for medical in Manila. We didnt believe the stories we were hearing as well. Once she received confirmation she packed and took off for Manila.

She got her travel papers easily and never ran into an issue along the way each time she has gone to Manila to renew her documents. However my wife is now in Manila staying with a cousin until she flies out of the Philippines.

Philippines Airlines runs at least once monthly to Los Angeles.

WOOOWW! CONGRATULATIONS! You've been DQed for 3 months while I have interview cancelled for 5 months and you went through easier than I did when talking with the agent in the embassy 😆 I called them multiple times before and they told me there was no available schedule. You really got lucky! Congrats!

I hadn't thought of this. So you think if you had a connection in Korea or Japan it may cause problems?

Not sure about immigrations hassles but for COVID as of July 20 South Korea is requiring all passengers including transit passengers to present a negative COVID test certificate issued 48 hours before fling. From Korean Embassy in Manila:

My wife is hassled even when flying with me in the Philippines and other countries so I'd rather just pay for a direct flight using Philippines Airlines. I am planning on meeting her in Los Angeles to escort her to DC.

Well we had to wait two months for DQ while others are now getting it within a week...I called St Lukes many times, got the busy tone, my wife calls once using a local Filipino number...Boom! She speaks to someone immediately. I have emailed the NVC and Embassy a few times, nothing, she calls once and now she is set.
