You know how strong your love it - but remember you need to prove that to a stranger (USCIS agent).

Good luck to you whatever you decide.

* consulate offivmcer as the uscis doesn't care how "strong " your love is

You will be hard pressed to prove to an officer that your relationship is legit otherwise but thanks for your opinion.

Not opinion.  USCIS doesn't opine to the validity of the relationship,  that responsibility is with the consulate interview

I think you are misunderstanding the flow and division of duties.

USCIS handles the petition. For an I-129F, there is no requirement to provide any relationship evidence (check the instructions to confirm). They have never issued an RFE or denied an I-129F for relationship evidence. They simply don't evaluate if the relationship is valid.

IOs have varying levels of strictness on what they want to see as evidence of intent to marry. Often letters of intent are enough. Sometimes they want to see more firm plans.

DOS handles the visa. The COs at the consulate or post will evaluate the validity of the relationship for a K-1 visa.

Get married and file for CR1, then file for K3 to speed up the process. You will avoid a lot of the pitfalls that K1s tend to come across later in the process

K3 will do nothing but get denied and cancelled. And it sure doesn't speed up anything.

All proxy marriage (online or video) require consummation after the fact before recognition for immigration purposes

July 2021 is a long way off.  The world will be a much different place then.

how do they check consummation, is that also by video? 😄

People have sent photos before.... USCIS even had to put a remark in the instructions that “graphic” photographic evidence was not required for evidence of consummation or a bona fide relationship.

There was a thread some years ago where someone had sent a whole bunch of graphic photos including some where the couple engaged in a threesome. And then panicked that these might cause their case to be denied on the grounds that it was not bona fide.

With the caveat that the in-person meeting could realistically have resulted in consummation. There was a case where the couple had a proxy wedding as one of them was in prison and the prison did not permit in-person marriage ceremonies, only proxy ones. Although the wife had subsequently visited the incarcerated husband multiple times, it was denied as the visits were not conjugal visits, they were supervised visits in a visiting room at a table.

And can you imagine the discussions we would have on the “effects of family changes” - we already have enough “Amazon returns” type questions. I can just see it now - “ordered a blonde, 5 ft 6, size 2 but received a 300-pound brunette with bad breath. Am I entitled to a refund?”

Would make an interesting chapter in your book.

True ! So Agree!!😂

I mean for me, when I buy something for long term for example a car, I would like to touch it, see it, feel it, smell it, drive it. Because I want/plan to keep it for a long time.

Marriage (suppose) is for the lifetime. A lifetime is a long time !!

I know it wont work for some people but for most people even (like me) I spent time like over 4 years living together before move forward with K1 and get married and even when we thought that we know each other good enough it is not same. Leave alone someone that haven't met for long time. People change. Especially havent met for over 2 y?lot of thing could change in 2 years.

I was a carnivore 2 years ago now I am a vegetarian.

I believe eventhough we claim we know our significant other but with time we always learn something new about our partner.

I hope OP would see it as a positive feedback from us not as a negative side.

My friend, a U.S. citizen divorced with the father of her child for 20+ years hasn’t seen him for that long also. Yet they kept contact and good relationship through all those years via phone calls. Her ex-husband lived in Uzbekistan. When they decided to re-unite, she filed for K-1 visa for him. Her application was denied on the basis that the 2 year meeting requirement had not been met.
