Fast food, farm, airport workers to strike Monday over racial injustice, union says

"Companies like McDonald's cannot on the one hand tweet that 'Black Lives Matter' and on the other pay us poverty wages and fail to provide sick days and adequate PPE," Angely Rodriguez Lambert, a McDonald's employee in Oakland, Calif., said in a statement shared by SEIU.

 

"We're going on strike because McDonald's and other fast-food companies have failed to protect us in a pandemic that has ravaged Black and brown communities across the country," Lambert said.

if I owned a fast food franchise, I’d fire the lot and hire people wanted to work without agenda.

 

entry level jobs are just that, either a means into the workforce or to augment salary, was never intended as a profession.

I am taking it you never had to staff an operation with near minimum wage workers. Sometimes its hard to keep decent people. Especially during the boom economy Trump inherited fro  Obama

I did when I managed a Wendy’s after the military, HS kids, moms with kids and retirees, never had an issue and most earned their keep

The problem here is that most fast food restaurants are actually small businesses owned by individuals.  Think of the Wendy’s in ATL, it was not The Wendy’s Company that took the big hit, but rather the black franchises that lost their business.  Corporations are easy targets, and now with their support of identity politics to try and placate the mobs, they will suffer more unless they actually grow a set.
