You will be glad to know that there has been no pile driving since Friday and I think it is all over, though it is hanging around on the property. Apparently all the work is finished. Just waiting for it to be removed at some point, but I'm not in control of things like that.

I was taking pile driving to mean something else.

We're doing just fine, thanks. :) We had a little disagreement about him flying back to the UK, but that was resolved after a lot of talking and being honest, not pile driving, although pile driving did happen.

I guess I was not wrong.

Sort of off topic but every time I see a copy-paste of a Fox News article and the headline is in Really Massive Letters, it does feel like I'm having a crazy uncle yell at me through the screen which is super on-brand, imo. :P

I use an iPad and the font size is automatic.  It does help those moderators that are visually challenged though, so I don’t bother making any changes.

So when people paste things from other sites it pastes their web format onto here. When we paste it, there's an option appearing in the reply dialogue akin to "paste in plain text" (before you do any other input, after that, it disappears), and that's preferable for several reasons. Not only does it paste the ridiculously sized text, but it also can import other design code from other sites resulting in completely mangling the post, accidentally adding other web elements into the post, moving things in and out of quotes, screwing up your own text, and so on.. I've even seen it mangle forums entirely if malicious code is embedded.

The main reason this is done, I suspect, is the social embedding element, for embedding Youtube videos, social media posts, etc., but I'd still remove it and force plaintext pasting as allowing code transfers like that poses a security risk and just looks ridiculous on the site.
