My fiance and her 2 boys will be arriving in Atlanta on the 26th (Tuesday). I am driving from Dallas to meet them. However in case something unexpected happens to me or the car on the road there I would like to find someone in the Atlanta area who would be willing to fetch them from the airport in the event of a problem. Please contact me if you can help in this way:

Dallasguy, can you change it so the flights come into DFW instead of Atlanta?

It is a 1,250 km drive from Dallas to Atlanta (I've actually done it, once with my car and another time with a Penske rental mover--never again will I rent a Penske van).

Had you done it with a Budget truck, you'd never do it with a Budget truck again. Had you taken a U-Haul, you'd probably have broken down half way there. :P

Not sure the U-haul would have broken down that soon--I've driven one all the way from Atlanta to DC, about 1,050 km; admittedly, this would probably take at least 40 L (11 US gal) more fuel.

Problem with Penske mover was its non-reclining bucket seats in cab (vs U-haul bench), so I could not easily stop to nap or sleep (contrast, in U-haul I coud stop and nap/sleep across the cab).
