Hi everyone,

When you uploaded scanned copy of Green card during application process, did you upload front and back copies as separate attachment or one single attachment?

I have front and back copies as two separate attachments. Is that OK ?

I uploaded as separate attachment. I think it's ok.

Also, for list of evidence to upload during online application (My wife got her GC 5 years ago through marriage). So, we are applying under 5 year rule. Is following evidence sufficient ?

1. Front and Back copies of GC

2. Marriage Certificate

3. Our child's birth certificate

Do I need to include tax transcripts ?

Hello Everyone,

I have questions on filing N-400, probably some of you might know the answers or have had experienced the same thing. To begin with, I filed the removal of conditions (I-751) last year of February, then four months ago I received a letter that I will be scheduled for an interview; however, I am still waiting on the interview to be scheduled. In my case, I don't have my 10 year green card yet. I also received a 18 months extension that will expire next year of February. Anyway, two days ago, I called USCIS to ask about when are they going to schedule my case and also asked them if I can apply for the N-400 while waiting for the interview, he said, yes because I met the requirements. My questions are:

1.) Does anyone here filed the N-400 while waiting on their I-751 interview?

2.) If so, did you send the copy of your expired Permanent Resident card and the extension letter as one of the evidence when filing the N-400?

3.) What are your best option to file online or paper?

4.) Did anyone successfully made it through when filing N-400 while still waiting on their I-751?

I have heard that the N-400 filing fee is going to increase $520 more starting October 2 this year, so that is why I want to take advantage of this time I have left before the increase.

Thank you all! I hope to hear from you.

A friend of my wife’s local office is in Cleveland, she submitted in late June, she already has interview date of 1st week of Oct, sorry the actual date escapes me. Hopefully this is indicative of case completions for N400s

I filed Aug 1st. So I have been waiting exactly a month for my biometrics appointment.

My receipt was generated the same day I filed. It was available in the web portal the following day. I received it in the mail about a week later.

Having said that, my field office is Portland, OR. So my guess is that the riots are slowing things down here??

Has anyone received their biometrics appointment yet? How did you file (online/paper)? what's your field office?

I filed my application online on August 10th, and after the initial 5 day countdown I’m also seeing the “we are taking longer” message. Hopefully they will send out biometrics appointment notifications soon. I’m in Austin, TX and my field office is in San Antonio, but biometrics will be taken in Austin Application Support Center. I’m not sure how long it takes to transfer a case from the National Benefits Center to the respective field office.

Filed this weekend.  Marriage based but eligible under 5y method. Just had to uploads kids birth cert, marriage cert and copy of GC.  pretty vanilla questionnaire answers for me other than traffic ticket which I mentioned.  I didn’t bother uploading it as it wasn’t a major ticket but I’ll have a copy at the interview.    When I log in it tells me 7 months expected completion time (April).  Newark is my field office. Public website says 13.5-20 months range for N400.

maybe it’s quicker now that they don’t have to sift thru marriage documents that a 3y application would have included or maybe cases are moving much faster ?  //edit.  I filed online.  I don’t see any indication where my case is now but i only have the acknowledgement PDF  letter From NSC

Wow that’s incredibly fast.  Would she have been applying under 3 or 5y rule ?

Based from some users who I was grouped with on I-751, they said it’s okay to file your N-400 when you’re already eligible but it will remain pending until you get your approval for I-751.

As for the filing, I find electronic more convenient and faster than the paper, not to mention the the availability of information in your account as soon as you file it.

I would send copy of greencard and the extension letter.
