My visa journey has come to an end. I am now an American citizen!

without a doubt this has been the hardest thing I've ever done. It didn't hit me until I grabbed a voter registration form outside the room.

I wish the very best of luck to everyone still waiting. Stay strong and positive. 2 months ago I hadn't heard anything from USCIS since I filed back in aug2020. Today, I am a citizen. Nothing happened for almost a year, then everything went fast.

Congrats...

I have my ceremony on the 28th

weird question to those who finished. Did you ever get into your USCIS account after your naturalization. I went in today just to see and it still says "Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed".

I was expecting to see something like "case completed" or "naturalization completed" or something like that.

What do you guys see?

Hi, I don't know if anyone is in the same situation. I had my interview back in May 2021, did well and the officer told me it would be only 2-3 weeks wait for the oath ceremony. I am now waiting 4 months and haven't received my oath ceremony. Is it normal? I am in Philadelphia office. Thank you.

I assume you have checked your online account in case they uploaded the oath letter and did you update them with your correct address?

Did you sign your certificate? Should the signature appear exactly like the one next to the picture?

I did sign it. I had that same question. My short signature is what I have next to my photo. However, I read online that you should sign your full name rather than your short signature so that's what I did.

There’s a 120 day rule after the interview. If they don’t give you a final answer after your interview within 120 days, you can show up at a federal court and request to be naturalized on the spot or ask that they give you an answer (or something like that) if everything went well in your interview and the officer even made references to the ceremony, chances are your case got misplaced or the officer didn’t click the right buttons to get your case scheduled.

@bunkx what does your online status say? Did it change after your interview ?

It still says "interview was scheduled" never changed. The notice they gave me after the interview had the "a decision cannot yet be made" box checked. Which I thought was strange because the interview went well and they said I'd hear about it in a couple weeks. I tried calling the 1-800 number and they just told me to wait out the 120 days and then take action if needed. I'll be at the 120 day mark November 27th.

I just looked it up on the USCIS website, it says I can request a judicial review at a district court after 120 days. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.
