I applied on August 23rd at the Phoenix office.

Received my interview notice on December 30th.

Had my interview today (February 9th) and the ceremony immediately after.

Went in at 7:30 to start the testing and in to the Oath room at 9am. :wow:

I was quite stunned when the interviewer told me that not only did I pass but I would also become a citizen the same day.

Congrats!! For the same day oath, do you know if they were doing multiple oath ceremonies at your office? Like, how many were in the ceremony with you? I have my interview on the 23rd at 11am and am curious if I'd have the option for same day at that time.

There was. In mine they had a husband take his oath but the wife just missed the cutoff so they had wait for the next one after. I did not hear when that was though but I imagine they do them every 3 hours or so?

It was a very streamlined ceremony. Little chat, staff read the oath and we responded with an "I do". Then some more information and picked up our certificates.

Sorry for the double post. I can't find a way to edit.

There were 17 of us total. Most of them had interviews that morning.

I wasn't really given a choice. The interviewer just stated I would do it at 9am, not really asking if I wanted to. :D

Suspect that if they do same day everywhere then you'll just be told to wait until the next one.

I had my interview on Feb 11th.  Allowed to enter the building 15mins before the actual interview time. Only I was allowed to enter the building. After the security check, had to wait in the waiting room for about 45 mins. The officer called my name and took me to the room. She asked me if my husband is here with me(my removal of condition is pending). I told her he is in the car. She asked for my Greencard, driver license, passport and appointment letter while I was standing and I was asked to take a oath to tell the truth before sitted down.  She went through my i-751 form info with me and corrected my new address, asked civics questions and yes no questions from N-400 form. After that she asked me to read the sentence in the iPad (Who was Abraham Lincoln?) And told me to write "Lincoln was the president during the Civil War."

Then I was asked to sign the form and check if my info is correct. She handed me the paper and said I passed the English and civics test, and she going to review my case.  if there is enough evidence they will approve it and will send me the letter for oath ceromony otherwise they are going to ask me additional info.  she   told me I am good to go.

Before leaving I asked her about my son's pending removal of condition.   His case stucked since July 2019 after receiving extension letter. Do I have to have appointment to get stamp in his passport. We have to drive 4 hours to get here.  And she noted his A-number down and told me she going approve his with mines. After that she decided to take my husband's interview also so that he doesn't have to come here again. Let's see how it's going to work. Hope to get the approval letter soon.  Can't wait this to be over.

Congratulations on having passed that portion!!
I’m curious, did your letter say it was going to be a combo interview for both the I751 and N400? I have my N400 interview next month but don’t know if it’s going to be a combo or not.

Thank you . No , it didn't say anything about i-751. It said only for N-400. But I think yours going to be a combo. Take your spouse with you anyway. Good luck to you!!

Thank you! I’m trying to make it possible for my husband to be there as well but he is in a different state for military training and will be on his last day of mandatory quarantine after returning on the day of my interview -.- I wrote a letter to his command explaining the situation and hope they will let him return one day early. What did they ask your husband? Did they interview him alone?

Yes they interview him alone.  First they didn't let him in. After my interviewos done, the officer wrote my husband's name and a note saying she wants to see him in my appointment letter so that the security will let him in. She asked him about my birthday, my kid's birthday, marriage date, my full name ,if I have any middle name, How we met, how many times he been to my country, they also showed him his signature signed in i-751 and asked if that's his, and  last question was if I paid him to come here .

Say whaaaat? 😱 😂 uhm okay. Thank you for letting me know. If my spouse can come with, I’ll have to instruct him not to try and be funny there. I’m sure they won’t have much of a sense of humor.

They are people just like us. My interviewer joked around with me about funny notes done in a speeding ticket by the officer etc. so they're not all stone cold.

Obviously, there is a limit to the funny business but I'm sure they also understand that some people use humor to deal with the stressful nature of the situation. :)
