Wife sent me a message yesterday that her I-131 was approved yesterday but she never did go for biometrics as her appointment was March 20, 2 days after they closed all the offices. Does this mean that her EAD will also be approved and it will be a combo card?

Good that it was approved but we can’t go anywhere.

thanks.

thanks.

A lot of people had their EAD and AP forms approved without biometrics. BUT, they haven't received the actual card.

They can't produce the card without it, unless for some special cases.

Gotcha, thank you.

I can confirm what Ayrton wrote. I was in the same situation as you. I applied for Green Card, EAD and AP together. I did not have ANY biometrics taken for 3 months after my NOA1's for any of the three applications so it was not the case that they just took biometrics for I-485, and could use it for my EAD/AP. Then I saw that my EAD and AP cases turned "approved" on Feb 7, 2020. Soon after that, my biometrics for Green Card (I-485) and EAD (I-765) were finally scheduled for March 6, 2020. I called USCIS and confirmed that they could not produce EAD/AP card without biometrics. In other cases they could use I-485 biometrics if an applicant had it taken by then, but this was not the case with me (as I wrote above). So I had to patiently wait for 4 weeks to have my biometrics taken (I literally had to make it twice on the same day, one for Green Card/I-485, one for EAD/I-765), but then it took just a week or two for the EAD/AP card to be produced and mailed to me.

After I already had EAD/AP card on hand, I suddenly received an invitation for AP biometrics (I-131). This did not make sense, so I called USCIS and clarified it with them. It appeared to be a mistake, they of course did not need my biometrics for the AP card that was already issued as a combo EAD/AP card, and I managed to cancel that rogue AP / I-131 biometrics appointment.
