Typical. I got home and the NVC website is down until 10pm USA time. I was being asked for the ds-260 number I assume I have to find that on there

Did you print a confirmation of submitting it online? An email confirmation?

It was just uploaded on the website I didn't get any confirmation or email from NVC other than the one telling me I'm dq.

I just have the NVC number and the invoice number I use to log onto the CEAC site

I managed to get the number but it comes up as invalid, I assume this is what you referred to earlier about it possibly being too early?

Thanks so much for your help.  I got in.

There are appointments in July 2 dates and 4 dates in August if people are interested.  I haven't booked yet I'll be doing it after I check with work.

Thanks again

That’s really helpful to know, thank you

If you haven’t booked a medical yet, it’s really simple. I just called and said “my case is expedited and on it’s way to London, and I’d like to have my medical before my interview so I don’t get stuck in AP, can I book now?”

They took my LND number and booked it over the phone with me. Then I got an email about 10 minutes later with everything I need to bring.

Our CR1/ IR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • March 19 2019: I-130 NOA2 (186 days)
  • April 26 2019: I-824 NOA1 (NBC) (Change from AOS to Consular - mistake on I-130 😭)
  • January 24 2020: I-824 NOA2 (273 days)
  • Feb 5 2020: Approved I-130 Sent to NVC (12 days after I-824 NOA2)

NVC Stage:

  • February 12 2020: Case Received @ NVC (7 days after being sent)
  • February 16 2020: Expedite Request Sent - Financial Hardship
  • March 7 2020: Case Number Created (23 days after NVC receipt)
  • March 7 2020: IV & AOS Fees Paid (Showed as PAID after 4 days)
  • March 13 2020: IV & AOS Docs Submitted
  • March 30 2020: Expedite Request Approved - Conditional (once Embassies resume normal services - COVID19)
  • May 04 2020: Documentarily Qualified
  • July 16 2020: Expedite Request Approved - Unconditional!!
  • July 31 2020: Medical Done
  • August 6 2020: Interview - APPROVED!
  • August 13 2020: CEAC Status - Issued! 😁

I need to register for an immigrant visa appt  That would ask when your appointment is. You don’t have one.

I have received a letter/email from the consular section with instructions to schedule an immigrant visa appt.

I have received a letter/email from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K(Fiance/Spouse/Child) visa appt. You aren’t a fiancé.

it won’t mess up anything. If it lets you make an appointment, you’re in!!
But don’t forget to find out when you can get a medical appointment.

I managed to book my appointment for August using the option you mentioned so thank you so much

When I finished booking it came up with this on the confirmation page “You must print this instruction page and bring it with you to your consular interview, along with the letter or email you received from the Consular Section.”

I don’t have an email or letter from the consular section, only the email from NVC saying my expedite was approved and then another email saying it had been sent to London. Will this suffice or am I in trouble? 🤞

I'm in the same boat, just have the email approving the expedite.

I booked for 30th July as it's a day I already know I'm not working, just hope I can sort a medical next week I'll be calling them first thing Monday morning

When I called yesterday they still had stuff for next week. For my date (31st) they had a bunch of times for the whole day, so I don’t think it’ll be a problem getting one next week, fingers crossed

They only do appointments on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays though

Thanks for that.

If I can get Wednesday or Thursday that gives enough time before interview, maybe even Friday.  I'll be calling them as soon as there phone lines open at 9.30am.

I would imagine they are not as busy as usual since most visas aren't being processed

Use the contact is form on the London website. They'll get back to you. That's what I am using. It's from the Consular Unit.

Yeah they basically told me to pick a date and then they listed the times, because they all seemed to be available. They answered the phone within two rings as well.

Perfect, thank you! That makes sense. My case is still in transit but my appointment isn’t for another month. Once it’s showing as ready I’ll contact them to confirm receipt and that I can still attend for mid-August. 😊

i don’t know anybody who had to show the letter from the embassy. Some people never receive it and they won’t mail a replacement.  Your interview confirmation print out speeds up the process outside like showing you have a “ticket” for an event. People who forget that still get in because they can look up the list of interviews for the day. The whole interview experience is very easy.

As to medical scheduling in London. There is never a long wait for the next available appointment. They ask for the LND number, but want to see confirmation of it in writing (from NVC or embassy) when you actually attend.  Many K1s call NVC to ask for the LND number over the phone. With that, they book a medical date well before their case even leaves NVC

You’re completely right, I think it’s just my nerves. After nearly two years since first filing and having made critical mistakes early on, I’m almost overly cautious now.

But you have a lot of knowledge and experience in this forum and that’s helped put my mind at ease, so thank you

I never received that letter and they were happy to accept my DS-260 confirmation page.

they mentioned they just wanted something official mentioning my LND number.
