I am planning to take it to the interview, that is my idea. I am guessing my interview might be around May - June 2021. In that case, can I do the exam now or I should wait a little?

No, don't do it. It's only valid for 60 days from the date the civil surgeon signed your I-693. Wait until next year.

Are you sure of this? It is not what I understood from others who commented on this thread.

They said that is valid for 2 years after the civil surgeon signs it, not just 60 days.

Edited my reply.

I still wouldn't do it because with fluctuating immigration policies and a giant mammoth that covid-19 is, it's not safe to assume that you would get an interview as you would have in normal circumstances. Why not wait until you get an interview notice?

Yeah maybe I wait a little more. Meanwhile I will contact some civil surgeons designated by USCIS in my area.

Yeah, shop around to see what they charges. Some clinics cost exorbitant amount of money even though they are all exactly the same.

Do you know if they normally work with insurances? I am paying a quite expensive health insurance and it is annoying paying medical fees.

Let's see

It really depends. I don't know if insurances have specific policies about I-693 much less know what they are, but most of I-693 involves immunizations which can get expensive very quick. For example, my BlueCross/BlueShield insurance covers all kinds of preventative measures including vaccination, but I don't know if they will cover the examination fee itself. I would review your insurance policies to see if it covers any immunization and separately contact them (by writing to leave records) and ask if they cover examination fees for I-693.

I have that same insurance!! But I know they have all different type of plans.

I will do what you suggest. Thanks
