Ohh yeah, people who are sent that questionnaire after their interview are usually kept in AP for a year at least. The same thing happened with my friend. She was kept in AP for a year. She was issued her Visa in Feb 2020 and is in the US now. InshAllah your husband will get it too. Do ask him to attend the interview. That's your only chance to explain the situation regarding your medical to the embassy. Also, please let us know how it went.

Hey, any specific reason your friend got the questionnaire like travel history etc?

Same situation here. We were stuck in AP for almost 18 months. I rcvd an email saying our case is out of AP, but we need to wait for further processing. I dont know when to expect a call from embassy. They are not even replying to inquiries after that last email. How long they will take? Any idea anyone?

We’ve been in AP for 17 months, what did the email state? Was ur spouse called to the embassy again? Any additional documents needed? Also, did you get ds5535?

I feel like it’s very common to be in AP for atleast a year my spouse also received the ds5535, it’s been 17 months and even had a second interview in July and nothing yet!

No not at all! They wanted an updated medical and was told to submit his new passport via courier and he did that and was received august 17! And we’ve sent a couple inquires, the date updates and sometimes they write back but that’s about it!

Going through the process, can you think of some causes that can trigger Ap?

No idea! They said everything was good and that they’ll email us they kept his passport and that was that! Some ppl say oh yeah it’s typical for males to be in AP and especially for a year or so but I’ve read females get it too so idk I guess it’s just something that happens and nobody really knows the real reason behind it

Yeah I think it’s not based on gender. Do you think having a travel history might be a problem
