So my fiance and I applied for our K1 in May of 2019. It was orginally handled by California, which we were hopeful for as it was a quick processing time. Well, 1 year later we finally got them to send us a NOA which said the case was transferred. My main question is this if anyone knows... The new location that has our case says the wait times are currently estimated at 13.5 months (which we are about to hit since our original file) to 17.5 months. Since we've already been waiting around 13 months does are time restart for the new location? Or will the time frame for their estimated processing time take into effect that we have already waited 13 months. Any information on this would be super helpful. Thanks everyone.

It was transferred Begining or Middle of June. I'm not sure what VSC unless you mean Vermont Service Center, than yes it was transferred to VSC. Applies May 2019, Transferred June 2019, Called for update other day, and for some reason the lady tried to get it expidited, but it was declined, which I mean I understand, we are not within any specific expiditing perameters.

It's 13.5 - 17.5 months average from the transfer time. In your case, June 2019.

Yes I was thinking the same thing?? I heard that we are supposed to call and ask for update after six months of not hearing anything

You can contact them and get an answer that's not "you're still within normal processing times" once your NOA1 is before the "receipt date for case inquiry" for I-129Fs at the California Service Center (or in the unlikely event your case has been transferred to Vermont, that one).

Anecdotally, usually you won't hear back from a while, and the reply isn't very informative, but you can.

99% of K-1s are processed at the CSC.  When a case needs a different kind of investigative processing (often due to a petitioner's criminal background - not saying that is your case), it may be transferred to VSC.

Thanks for the replies. Really I'm just wondering if the original file date of May 2019 (We received NOA1 in June 2019) counts as time waited for the consideration of the transfer time. For instance Vermont is 13.5-17.5 months. We're currently at 13 or 14 months. So does that mean Vermont only has a couple more months, or do they get 13.5-17.5 from the day they got the transfer, which in theory would make us wait another year +. Thanks so much for all the help. Just curious if anyone else experience this and what information they have pertaining to it.
