N400 filing soon

Will accomplish my N400 application soon based on a 3 year marriage to us citizen.

Although I have read the necessary instructions and requirements, i got few questions:

 

1) Does is basically easier to file N400 online? (Should I also attach such as the tax transcripts, bank records etc on line?) 

 

2) Is my foreign passport a needed document?  (because it’s expired), however, i only read my US Citizen spouse passport or naturalization cert is important.

Online is faster because it doesn't have to go through the mail...

Yes, you upload all your documents; the requirements and instructions are on the USCIS website. Your foreign passport is not needed for N400 purposes; only if you want to travel or you have the ability to be a dual citizen should you renew it.

1) I wouldn't say easier but it depends on your needs. Do you have a printer at home? Are you sheltering in place? If you are going to apply online, you need to upload all the necessary documents, and in my experience it was challenging because I had to find access to Internet Explorer 11 and handle/change documents larger than 6mb.

I would say that online filing is easier and better because it leads you to mistakes you may do and to required documents you have to upload.

Foreign passport is not needed to file N400, BUT it is needed during interview because they need to check your travel history during the 3 years. It does not have to be a valid passport at the time of interview.
