Howdy all! Made the treck from VA to RI yesterday. Had my 1st timmies yesterday. Wasnt that good! Just didnt have the normal timmies taste! I chatted with the counter dude for a bit. He stated the coffee and cream (to his knowledge) is all shipped from canada. I asked if it was 18% cream as it is is Canada, but he wasnt sure, just that he was certain it was brought in from canada???? Had my second cup today, and it tasted much better, but till not a true tims!! No wonder tims isnt so popular here; a large (which is the biggest u can get for a hot coffee) is like $1.80, got find a Dunkins, and their XL which is huge is like $2.00!! Probably fit 2.5 large timmies in it!! Quanitity over quality!!

Beautiful weather here in the Newport RI area. No humidity like DC for sure! Next week at this time, will be in the air to the free world (saskatoon) Cheers

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

We went through the drive thru up here last night, there was a van full of people in front of us from Texas. 6 XL passed to them, lol.

Think if we get enough hooked they might demand some Timmie's down south?

TIMMIES!!!!!!!!!! The darn can I bought in April is empty...with no refill in sight. I have to admit, the Tim's back home is way better than what I've had here in the States, which was only in WV. My husband says I've definitely acquired one of the requirements for becoming Canadian...my love (i.e. obsession) for Tim's.

Double Double please! On second thought...a Large Triple Triple!!!!

Hee hee.. so you are under the assumption that they do that in Canada too?? as a former TImmy's employee I know for a fact that it doesn't always happen (just like the soups aren't always kept at the correct temps, and the cakes sit around for a week before they are cut into single pieces for sale, and boston creme donuts are like gold and if they happen to drop on the floor they are REUSED):whistle: But maybe I just worked in a rogue store :)

Yes it looks pretty sad, but as I recall it was always a little dirty......when you walk down the viaduct to central ave downtown...it's like time has stood still...We went into Davidners Western Wear on River street, and he still has some stuff in there that was there in the 60's....it's kind of creepy there, but my Mom still lives there, and as long as she does, I will be visiting there every year.....and hey they have Timmies and Boston Pizza...so I"m good to go :D

Some areas were pretty dirty, but i always felt safe. Sure didnt feel that way last yr!! Even the area around carlton high school was very dirty, and those duplex's from the carlton area towards Kinsmen rink were VERY worn down!! Most of my family has departed the area, but will stil be making a trip to PA. I graduated Carlton in 1991. Scott
