It’s in no way confidential.  The expedite criteria are publicly available.

VJ users may or may not share their particular details, but if you have a legit reason (from the criteria) to expedite, anyone else’s is irrelevant.

Links please.

Would be hard to find the specific links now, since I was seeing it accidentally, in different topic discussions on this website.

So I am going to be assuming you are trying to be funny (which mental illness is anything but..) but if you are the intending immigrant and you have or recently developed "just" a mental illness that will actually make your journey to the USA more complicated.  The expedite request has always been available and on the USCIS website; it's never been a secret. However it does seem people feel they meet criteria now more than ever..

USCIS may consider an expedite request if it meets one or more of the following criteria:

  • Severe financial loss to a company or person, provided that the need for urgent action is not the result of the petitioner’s or applicant’s failure to:
    1. File the benefit request or the expedite request in a reasonable time frame, or
    2. Respond to any requests for additional evidence in a reasonably timely manner;
  • Urgent humanitarian reasons;
  • Compelling U.S. government interests (such as urgent cases for the Department of Defense or DHS, or other public safety or national security interests); or
  • Clear USCIS error.

Thankfully, I do not have a real mental illness (recorded officially) yet.
As for the expedite request for interview specifically, then it is being approved or denied not by the USCIS, but by the National Visa Center. ;)
