I suppose including pictures of the proposal and a dated receipt from the ring could prove that you bought the ring, met, and proposed within the last two years.

I'm not sure if the OP has pictures of the proposal or not.

But even if so, how does one show that the ring in the photo is the ring on the receipt? At best, it would need to be a clear photo of the ring with it on her hand and him there, and the receipt having an image of it, like some online companies do (and even this is fairly easy to fake - give me < 5 min + the original receipt page or email and I can make any such receipt show my wife's ring instead).

More likely, the IO isn't going to spend their time comparing rings. ;)

Edit: This reminds me of the "promise ring" from the Netherlands individual on 90 day fiance. It was a ring given in anticipation of a future marriage proposal. haha

I had pictures and video of my proposal which formally occurred in a restaurant in front of many witnesses. Be careful not to have the appearance of a wedding reception. My K1 petition sailed through in record time. I would highly advise front loading your petition especially given the current situation with pending executive orders and pending USCIS layoffs.

I bet USCIS does not look at 100 pictures, trying to figure out when they where taken. Nether do they look at 100 pages of chat logs. Anything computer generated or electronic media related is almost worthless. These things are so easy to fake. Stick with old fashioned paper work. A Lot of people think, everything computer, Internet or electronic must be thru, just like they believe, everything on the TV news must be thru.

I don't know if it helped, but for our own peace of mind, we added big bold titles to each page we sent, to make easier for them to know what they were looking at.

E.g.: PROOF OF MEETING IN PERSON. Beneficiary's Passport stamps 2018-2019. Page 1/2

The few pictures we sent, printed b/w, 4 on each page, besides the title, were captioned just with location and year.

Lately, people have been reporting RFE's despite sending what would be considered enough evidence.

This is posted under K1 visa procedures so I’m going to assume you got engaged. Was there an engagement ring? You can submit a receipt for that along with pictures of the engagement. This is mentioned in the VisaJourney K1 guide:

https://www.visajourney.com/guides/k1-fiance-visa/

Not relevant to the OP's RFE reason.

The chat message you showed proves just that - you chatted. There is nothing about that says to me, a total stranger who has never met either of you, that you have ever met in person.

Photos can be edited and doctored, now more than ever where even a cell phone contains photo editing applications. Even a Luddite like me can make a photo of me taken in my back yard look like I’m standing in front of the Eiffel Tower, for example.

Anything that is not from an official source can be modified in this day and age. Even Air BnB receipts. Pretty much the only person that the government will believe has not told any lies is a government official. So visas and passport stamps are the best evidence. Ironically a passport stamp shows you travelled to the country but doesn’t prove you met the other person. So these coupled with records of ATM transactions in her home city, hotel receipts and a few photos, etc are a good way to demonstrate you have physically met.

Note that anything that can be fabricated or modified already has been by someone seeking to gain a K-1 illegally. That’s why USCIS needs to see something foolproof such as passport stamps or visas. You name a way to cheat your way to a visa, and it’s already been tried by at least one person. It’s not that they don’t believe your photos, it’s that the bar has been set very high due to less honest people. It’s unfortunate, but that’s life.

On the Reddits, they like to refer to it as an "appreciation ring" lol.  The fact that he knelt to present it, and that Darcey was pining so hard for an engagement ring made it even more memorable.

That is only evidence of the date the ring was purchased, and that the two have met at some point.  This is precisely why so many get RFEs for the required two-year meeting evidence.

If proof of an engagement ring purchase were necessary for a K-1 then many of us would fall at the first hurdle! My “engagement ring” was the plastic ring from the neck of a Mountain Dew bottle 😂 that he was drinking from at the time. He took my comment of “I’m not one for expensive jewelry” too literally.

Likewise. I wanted nothing to do with any actual engagement ring, so I got surprised with a chocolate one in the gondola at Vail. We ate it. :)
We didn't even have a formal proposal ... we decided this was the most sensible way to do things and we both agreed on it. Boom ... engaged.

Needless to say, we aren't your typical couple.
