Good day everyone!

We have submitted all our documents on CEAC last April 27, 2020 and we received an email on July 7, 2020 that says:

The National Visa Center (NVC) updated the status of your immigrant visa application. Please go to the Department of State's Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) at https://nvc.state.gov/ceac. You will need your NVC case number and invoice ID number to log into your account.

Once you have logged into CEAC, please look in your message box or on the Status Chart at the bottom of the page. If NVC has feedback on any items you submitted, there will be a new message with details. If not, please simply follow the updated instructions on your Status Chart to complete your case. If any column says "Pay Now", "Invalid Doc", "Incomplete", or "Re-Opened", that means you must take action by paying a fee, submitting a form, or uploading a corrected/missing document.

Regards,
National Visa Center,
U.S. Department of State

I opened our account in CEAC but there is still no message there and the Status Chart did not change. It's been 6 days. :(

Based from what I've read before, it's not that long to wait for the message in CEAC after receiving an email from NVC.

Should we contact them?

Hello! It's been 8 days and we still have not heard anything from NVC and CEAC inbox has still no message.

Should we contact NVC about it?

Yeah.. you should contact NVC about it.

Thank you! I already said this to our petitioner, he'll be the one to contact the NVC about it.

And just an update, we still have not heard anything from the NVC and CEAC inbox is still empty. :(

I will just wait for my uncle (petitioner) to contact the NVC. :)

Hello everyone! Just an update, the petitioner contacted the NVC already through email telling them that we still don't have an update in CEAC inbox and this is their reply:

The documents you submitted are being reviewed. For current processing times, please visit our website at https://nvc.state.gov/submit (English) or https://nvc.state.gov/submit/espanol (Spanish). NVC will let you know if we need additional information or able to schedule your case for an interview.

If you need to correct or re-submit a document, we will send you an email letting you know you have a detailed message in your CEAC account.  Return to https://ceac.state.gov/iv and click on the "View Messages" button to the right to read feedback and instructions from NVC.  You should also refer to the Civil Document tab or Affidavit of Support Documents and Financial Evidence tab to review any documents that are missing or need to be deleted and re-submitted.

You can also check the status of the items you submitted and your case in general in your CEAC account.

I was just confused  because why did they send us an email saying that they have already updated the status of our immigrant visa application when in fact it was still in NVC being reviewed?

I also checked the NVC timeframes and they are already reviewing documents submitted to them on May 8, 2020.

We submitted the documents last April 27, 2020. And until now, CEAC inbox has still no message. 😕

oh man, gotta love these old threads... Did anyone here figure out what happened with their case, or can provide an update with how long after getting the NVC email it took to get any changes on CEAC portal? @Angelikaa @BYasmine @Satriabajahitam

For any future people who might find this thread..

I submit all documents to NVC on Oct 26th, 2022 and on Dec 6, 2022 NVC sent the same email as is referenced by others in this thread, to check CEAC. After logging in, there were no changes to anything - all documents still show "SUBMITTED" status - nothing has been approved or rejected, and there is no message in the CEAC inbox. I sent a public inquiry on Dec 7th (yesterday) so will be waiting to see what happens. I will try to remember to post an update here if/when I finally get DQ or figure out what is happening.

This appears to be an old thread but I am in the same situation.  Received email but not seeing any changes on the website.  What was the solution?
