I just really need to be over with this process as its really hard to deal with mentally, emotionally and physically. No matter how I try to not think about it and go throw my day its always just there like a ghost in the night.

I totally get you. I check my damn case status everyday when I know damn well it's not going anywhere. This process keys up your anxiety. I had managed to forget about it before because of the presidential proclamation but as soon as that was lifted, it was right back at the forefront of my mind.

Hi everyone.  How are you all?

Been going to work so early in the morning and coming home late in the evening.....its reporting period at the office so its kinda rough.

To give you all an update on my kids' case..................the letter was received by the Senior Superintendent of Police and is being process. I have a friend that works at the Police Station and she is pushing it through for me.  God is good, ever good to me because I totally thought she had relocate to another area but when I asked for her, to my surprise she was still there.  So she is trying her best to assist me.  I am hoping that by Thursday the letter would be ready for me to send off to NVC.

Hey Kimisha, since getting your approval, have you heard anything from NVC or the embassy in Kingston?

The kids are okay, just missing me and much as I miss them.

You all be safe!  I will definitely keep you posted

Yes actually they called my husband the next day and his interview is tomorrow morning.

I am happy you have someone helping you to push and get the docs.

Just an update from US Embassy consular conversations. They said they have backlogs ranging in the thousands and they are currently only scheduling interviews in the single digits (less than 10 interviews per day). The cases where interviews were cancelled because of the pandemic are in the hundreds so they are working through those first. They stated that if you just dq this year, you're looking at a 6-12 month wait since there are thousands of people before you.

Hearing they are back logged by thousands is so disheartening for families awaiting their appointment dates. Such a blow knowing it's outside of our control.

He was approved today.

Its crazy this process.

I feel blessed that it over because I feel the wait is going to be long from now on. My hubby said it was only one worker and 8 people waiting today so it was a long wait. How can they work with one person with so many people waiting.

Congratulations to you and hubby!

It is really disheartening to hear that backlogs are beyond 6-12 months.  Its sad, very sad.

The Detective doing the letter said I should check back next Monday or Tuesday.  So I am leaving all else in the mighty hands of God.  I was hoping for this Friday though, but every disappointment is for good.  So since I have been waiting all these months, another week is just fine.

Thanks for updating us. Although it's not the greatest news, at least we have an idea of what's currently happening.
