I’m in NY too.  We still haven’t gotten it and his job just said he will be let go if they dont get it soon.  His temporary on passport expires 2/27, so getting closer and anxious.  Is there a way to check the status?  I tried calling and got no where because the case ID wouldn’t work.

Yes. I believe the number starts with IOExxxxxxxxx. Check the email confirmation you got when you paid for the green card fee. Enter that into the case status inquiry on USCIS. 
 

And lucky you, we’ve been looking for a job for my husband and till no luck. Ugh he’s itching to work and I’m itching for him to work too 🤣🤣

Haha!  He applied for dozens of jobs!  Finally got through part time for a cleaning place, and then full time with a temp agency.  If you have them in your area then try that! 
we did use that number and it came back not valid.  Was hoping to find an e-mail address to get through to an actual person.

Hi there. I hope all is well. I’ve tried many times to pay the immigrant fee but get an error message. I’ve also called USCIS and told to wait a week for IT (they don’t seem to be very knowledgeable). Has anyone experienced this? Anything else I can do? We’ve been gone for a few weeks now and I’d love to get this done.

If that doesn’t work for you call USCIS, the wait will Be long but call and inquire about the status. Our status only changed from payment received -> green card processing -> green card mailed out.

It worked this time!  Says it was mailed out today!  Thanks for the help!  This group has been the biggest support through this whole process.

Good morning @DBarton, are you entering your Alien Registration # and Case ID as shown on the document received when you picked up with your passport & visa? What is the error message? I remember a couple ppl saying they rec'd a message they had to wait a few days/weeks to pay. It would seem it's an issue with USCIS therefore you may need to wait on a resolution from them. You may msg them thru your USCIS account online if you cannot reach them by phone.

  I had experienced same issue ( an expected error occurred)and it took two months for USCIS to resolve the technical issue. We have contacted USCIS more than five times and they couldn’t able to resolve the issue. Fortunately, one of the agent found that the visa package document was missing and he referred the issue to lock box verification. The entire process took almost a month. 

After two months of follow up, USCIS has sent an email acknowledging the technical issue and only after that we paid the fee online. The technical team doesn’t have any clue about the issue. We need to be more specific in explaining the issue to the agent.

Based on my experience, I would request you to keep following the USCIS every week. Please remember to save all the reference numbers for every call.

Just an update:  Mailed everything to JA with Fed Ex and it arrived in 2 days.  Kids interview is next week.
