This process is becoming very frustrating , its like your so close but yet very far. I'm a shy person so I just read mainly thru the thread which as helped a lot with knowing what's going on with the process and the stages of where the Embassy is. So I don't know if my post will matter but seeing the recent conversations I'm like let me share my experience. My husband had an appt. for 9/22 , I wanted to attend , my job barely wanted me to leave due to it being busy with COVID , but I was given time off to go to JA, went to quarantine for the 14 days, I saw the conversations about appts being cancelled and part of me wanted to email them if the appt would still happen but I decided to wait and see. He did his medical 9/10 and 2 days after we receive the cancellation email. I sent them something letting them know this was the only time I was given to travel for the year due to my job and basically got a email saying the appts. going forward have been cancelled and regret any inconvenience. Husband emailed them without me knowing letting them know its getting me depressed and basically got the same response. I saw their FB Live at one point saying its good when the spouse is there at the interview. So I'm like ok I'm here let me email them again this was after the interview date past ,to see when would appointments be resumed because I saw they were doing K1(which I mentioned in the email) and I told them again this was the only time I am able to travel for the year and that I had to leave 10/3 and basically got back what's attached in the picture for that, so its really frustrating that some people didn't have theirs cancelled while the ones that were cancelled have to wait till however long. Right now seeing how the holidays are coming up I'm just thinking that's going to cause more delays. This process is driving me crazy I swear every ding I hear for my email I'm rushing to see if its them. Hopefully their few weeks means soon before it hits the holidays in November.

Hi Stefan! You're still going to be able to do your medical and based on today's live they said they have a plan in place that will eliminate to need to cancel so you may be safe for your interview.

Hello guys, frustration is an understatement. Some days I am optimistic and some days I just drink myself to sleep:(

I will update my status once I figure it out but filing for hubby in JA from Florida. DQ 9/1/2020 so I know I have some waiting to do. Travelled to Jamaica last month but the experience to go was so bad for me, I dont see doing that again anytime soon but Hubby is loosing his mind. Phone sex is no longer cutting it, lol and anniversary is next month. He just says lots of plan and nothing. He is convinced its never going to happen. Told him I saw this group and many people have the same issue so he has to keep the faith but sometimes I loose faith too.

@kimisha do you mind telling us why your travel experience to JA last month was bad? I'm considering a trip soon? 😫

FYI for upcoming travel

KINGSTON, Jamaica— Cabinet has approved several changes to streamlining Government's approach to the COVID-19 pandemic as it relates to travel.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced this afternoon that the following changes are to take effect on October 10:

1. The pretesting requirement for visitors from high-risk countries will be maintained.  However, consistent with the local acceptance of antigen testing, the pretesting requirement will be modified to permit both PCR and antigen tests.  Holness said this should make it easier for visitors – both tourists and from the diaspora – to meet the pretesting requirement as antigen tests are much more readily available and are faster and cheaper than PCR tests.

2. Applicants on the visitjamaica platform will no longer be required to upload their COVID-19 test certificates. They will however be required to present it and the usual travel authorisation at the airport when they check in for their flight.

3. Residents of Jamaica will continue to apply for their travel authorisation on the Jamcovid site and are not subject to the pretesting requirement.

Holness said the Government is in advanced discussions to implement a health services and logistics insurance plan that will be mandatory for visitors to Jamaica.

“We are targeting an effective date of November 1, 2020. This plan will provide for local medical care and air ambulance services where necessary for visitors who fall ill while in Jamaica,” Holness told the House of Representatives.

I was trying to hold out until our appt but I can’t... I’ve been alone with our now 12 month old twins for a year now... I’ve traveled to JA during the pandemic and while it’s not the best it’s not horrible either. For me the hardest part is traveling alone with 2 now toddlers. I pray this process begins to move for us all... soon and very soon. I think I’m just gonna bite the bullet and go for a few days late this month 😔
