And it's amazing how no one has also heard that there are scam phone calls from the 'health department' that tell the person they are 'infected' and then troll for information.

I know right. Its pretty easy to spot fake news nowdays or recognize scams

Ahhh, TX.  FL hasn't relaxed nearly that much yet.  Masks still required in stores.  But at least we can't catch covid in Home Depot!!

Unless something has changed, we are still required to wear a mask in all businesses and outside when social distancing is not possible.........I think dining inside is still at 50% capacity, IIRC.

Well no, but they see the same BS that was reposted on Facebook, elsewhere and then spout it all the same. :P

Second part was redundant, the first part was enough. 🙃

I do sometimes think about getting off of it. I enjoy the pictures and updates from friends I dont see much of, or from ol' high school  mates etc. However the daily parade of posts of idiotic obviously fake bs, makes it hard for me to sit on my hands and not politely call them idiots, which I cant' , then it gets my stress level up. Especially if it's people I have to socialize with on occasion. "Husbands of the Filipina Mafia.

A guy we socialize with is the king. He posted the other day...

Beware, people are going around handing out free masks. The masks have knockout gas on them, they get you to try them on then when you pass out, they rob you . The police have verified this.

I was in the same boat as you.  As the percentage of friends posts decreased, and the number of BS posts increased exponentially, I couldn't take it anymore.  I never unfriended anyone for opposing views (only if we hadn't had any interaction in like three years or so), but I got unfriended a few times from my farther left friends from the military or high school.

Today, I am enjoying a life of no FB, much less stressed in general.  I kept Messenger incase any friends actually wish to communicate directly with me (especially HS friends), as well as to keep in touch with my daughter.  But I miss FB not one little bit.  I think you can stay in touch with the mafia via messenger, particularly if you create a group with all the members in it.  An easy way to communicate to a group of people.

And here I go thinking you unfriended me. I think you are right. I think the nonsense is about 70/30.

I tolerated FB for years and the fact that people loved to post every time they took a dump, but it just became too weird to me that people could have so much insight into my personal life while having nothing to do with it. It was especially of "family" where it bugged me so much, not random people on the internet. There's no substitution for interaction, like buttons or impressions/pixel engagements can't replace a visit or a call. It felt too much like giving people a part of me for free while they gave nothing, and that isn't a relationship.
