I wonder if this nasty attitude made anyone here feel better?!?! I get it people, we are all tired of this long journey we are all patiently waiting to reunite with our loved ones, but this way of talking has no room in here.
We are all adults, act like one.

I agree, these days the tension is higher than usual. Fighting amongst ourselves isn’t going to do anything other than add more stress. The embassy opening is based on the plan created by the Department of State and the local situation of the country the embassy/consulate is located. I hope more will be entering the early stages of opening by next month so people can get interviews and reunited with their loved ones. I know everyone is anxious but please let’s just try to remain positive and civil. We are all going through similar situations which our friends/family members might not fully understand so we rely on this community for support and advice.

no I don’t. do you?

The US Embassy is currently processing only mission-critical immigrant visa applications. These cases include those where an applicant is close to ageing out of an immigration benefit, and where lawful permanent residents who have lost their green card need a Boarding Foil to return to the United States.

We will also start processing soon IR1, IR2, CR1, and CR2 visa applications for spouses and children of US citizens as mission-critical.

Information for immigrant visa applicants
On April 22, President Trump signed a proclamation suspending entry into the United States of certain immigrants who present risk to the U.S. labor market during the economic recovery following the COVID-19 outbreak.  The proclamation is effective at 11:59 p.m. EDT on April 23 and expires in 60 days, unless continued by the President.  U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and those holding valid immigrant visas on the effective date of the Proclamation, are not subject to the proclamation.  No valid visas will be revoked under this Proclamation.  Routine visas services have been suspended at U.S. posts worldwide, but as resources allow, embassies and consulates will continue to provide emergency and mission critical visa services for applicants who are not subject to this presidential proclamation. The full text of the presidential proclamation is available on the White House website at: https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/proclamation-suspending-entry-immigrants-present-risk-u-s-labor-market-economic-recovery-following-covid-19-outbreak/.

Shutting down embassy completely  doesn’t help anyone

It does, because it helps to prevent spread of the virus. Most embassies are closed. Just because they're sending interview letters it doesn't mean they're open -interview letters have a future date, and even that is subject to change. Your case is not critical.

It’s not a fight okay, you act like you are the only one pissed

I am neither fighting nor am I pissed. I don't know how you can interpret that when I am not acting. This is a forum and so it's easy to misinterpret written messages. I do understand where OP is coming from, but a visa interview at an embassy is not critical at this point. The embassies that are open are trying to help citizens go back to their countries. That is critical.

I don't believe shutting down the embassies/consulates was meant to be a means to stop transmission in the US. They would have needed to put in actual travel restrictions from every country as well...just stopping new visas doesn't do anything.

I believe the stated reason for shutting them down was to help prevent local transmission, to protect the workers, and because of limited capabilities to function as a result of local restrictions.

As these conditions improve, they are reopening.

It blows my mind how people think they have the power to mind read and guess your humor just by reading a few lines.

Anyhow, in the most peaceful tone ever: they are shutting down embassies because they are trying to implement social distancing, just like with schools closing. And just because the US is where it is at, that doesn't (or shouldn't) give people free reign to think "oh well, look at where they are at now, we might just as well open the embassies because the situation is already bad". No, they are trying to protect workers at the embassy, and also public in general.

And again, I am not pissed. I am trying to be reasonable. While I do understand the feeling of wanting to get done with whatever process you are undergoing, I am just trying to explain to you why some embassies are not open as of yet.
