Hey Visa Journey!

I made sure to submit form N-400 for my citizenship last month before taking an extended trip to Canada to see family. I'm  just curious to know, what is the next course of action due to all of the disruptions at local application centers? Before I left I got a confirmation  letter from USCIS stating they're  processing my case. Has there been any updates on local application centers or field offices  being opened to take biometrics etc. in NYC or surrounding borough's?  I just want to be prepared  just in case if things are being done differently due to COVID-19. Answers would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Did you submit online? If yes, you should log in every now and then and check under "Documents" tab if your biometrics appointment has been scheduled. The letter will be uploaded there.

Re-opening dates for ASC are here, by center: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/uscis-office-closings

Just open the drop down under Application Support Centers. Most open on 07/27, but some as early as next week. As for general process: You'll receive your biometrics appointment next, and after that you're up for what's probably a very long wait (NYC processing times are amongst the longest).

Hope this helps.

No worries. I filed in January in NJ, am outside of the country myself at the moment. I did my biometrics in February, and rely on the online account for updates regarding interview. NJ is starting to re-schedule June/July 2019 filers now, I assume NY is even more backlogged...

Nice. Atleast you got your biometrics done and out of the way. My local ASC in Brooklyn re -opens on July 13th, that is good news but we'll  see how this things pan out with everything being backed up. Much thanks, again!
