Howdy!

Joining in a little late but this is great news!

Anyone else getting good vibes on K1 interviews in Montreal?

Our case has been sitting at the NVC (along with everyone elses) for the last couple of months.

Do they process the K1's along with the CR1's IR's, R's etc.?

Happy for anyone that is getting positive!

I know earlier in this post someone mentioned they got an email saying to get a new medical done if it’s expiring since they are not accepting it. Anyone who talked to the consulate on the phone asked about medicals? Mine is expiring end of July so if the August 14 date is true I’ll be needing a new one probably.

That was me, and yes, the email said they cant extend the medical exam. You will need to get one. Im just going to do it so I have a new one to take with me when it starts up again. Knowing Montreal, they'll refuse at the interview for an expiring medical and have you send a new one. 400 bucks is better spent than waiting another 6 months for processing

I didn’t ask but yes I think you need to get a new medical. I highly suggest you call and let us know what they say. The more confirmation we have on that August 14th date, the better. The number to call is: ‭(438) 793-1947‬. Press 1 for English, 8 for Canadian citizens, and 4 to speak to an operator. Let us know what they say!

I thought most of the US medical clinics won’t let you book in a medical until you have an interview date? That’s what the one in Vancouver was like when I tried to book. Or which one are you going to?

I called today and I got the same verification of August 14th possible start date. I also asked about the medical and they are unaware but these guys are only the booking call centre for interviews, and I asked about the order in which the interviews will be conducted and she speculated they should most likely prioritize those who had theirs way back in March then follow from there. I’d say no way to know for sure until MTL says something, but this is good news though!

Sorry, I should clarify. Im on a post-refusal, won the appeal journey. Maybe that process is different. This will be my third medical for all of this.

A different question for those people who may/may not need to renew their medical: which ones do you guys go to? I went to Vancouver one and it was eh 😕 the driving to get to different clinics for tests was a bit of a hassle, is the Toronto ones better? Are all US medical clinics open?

I’m not sure! They did not specify which type of Visas are getting resched first, just that they may prioritize those who had theirs cancelled first when they started cancelling them in March and following from there. I’m just glad they will open at all, I had tried to plan to be out of Canada before winter hits! Haha

What visa are you waiting on? And may I ask why you were refused?
