Albeit bad that the medical needs to be done again, the fact that you just got some communication from them at Montreal is possibly a good sign that things are starting up again...

when was your initial interview scheduled for?

First interview was June 2019, I was denied. Appealed it and won the appeal, second Interview was scheduled for April 3rd 2010, and obviously canceled. I agree. An actual , non-standard reply is promising.

@Devint would you mind sharing some details of the email? Does it say anything about local conditions now permit processing or something like that?

No, theres nothing specific. I enquired about my medical potentially expiring (which it will mid august) and they sent me a standard reply saying that visa services are temporarily suspended,  blah blah blah. I responded saying thats not good enough and can tbey please answer my question about the examination, which they did about a week later. I wish I had juicer info to share, but no - we're all still locked out i guess, only there's another couple hundred dollar expense to make - again

Okay, thanks for supplying all that information. they are still tight lipped. Someone else actually received an unprompted email from Montreal saying to go do their medical again, and in the wording of Montreal's email, it said that local conditions now allow.

anyways.....

oh really? i feel like we’re just gonna wake up one day with an email from them about our appointments because they clearly don’t care about announcing anything.

Anyone get any updates for Montreal?

In another forums, some people got to talk to someone from a Center that help with interview and the agent have told them august 14. But the date is no 100% sure yet, the agent said there would be an announcement to come. But I don’t know if it’s official.

I also just called the consulate and spoke to a man. He did say that they would be opening the registration for Interviews on the 14th. He said I can check the website where I had registered for my interview before but they wouldn't open it up until August 14th. Our interview was already scheduled and cancelled 4 weeks before so I don't really understand if it's just a free for all. I would say people who already had interviews should get theirs rescheduled first. I should have asked that. Oops

Just called a number someone provided on Facebook for the Embassy. It was not the direct number, but I was able to get some information.

She said they are starting August 14th, and that they were waiting on an announcement in the coming days and weeks as to whether that date is a go. She did not specify if it was a date for interview letters or interviews, but hopefully the latter!

Here is the number in case anyone else wants to call.

438-793-1947

You need to press 8 to say you are a Canadian citizen in order to speak to anyone (in the English menu anyway). You will also need the applicants passport number and possibly the case number.
