Congrats Annie! So happy for yoooou :) This is great news for us all. Did your invite letter come via email? And how much notice have they given you? I'm trying to guesstimate the future about when my April 6th CR1 visa interview might be rescheduled and whether or not I'll have to retake my medical.

Medical has to not expire for a month after interview date...so I would have had to retake it as mine would have expired Sept 6th.

They are requiring 14 days strict quarantine before  medical/interview as per Canadian border requirements at this time.

I was asked to email back to confirm attendance...just the generic IV email address.

Email was received from montreal-iv-dv@state.gov

All other requirements were the same as usual.

Thanks to everyone for being so patient and nice to me as I end my 26month consular journey and start my *&??? month AoS journey just as 70% USCIS staff furloughs are announced.   Fed up!!!!!  But...at least I am with my spouse, so I am very thankful.

Good luck to all!

Best of luck to you! Thanks for all the updates.

Thank you for sharing your journey! And I read your post on how you emailed them back to give your appointment away cause of switching to AOS. We all had so many hard decisions to make during this process. I ALMOST made the same decision to switch but in the end I stayed with CR1. I pray your AOS goes smoothly!!

I'll be heading back to Canada September 17th after having visited my hubby in the US for 6months. I'm hoping I have just enough time to quarantine and re-take my medical if necessary. I believe mine will expire October 13th cause I took mine on March 13th. It sucks that they have to be good for a whole month after the interview date! I didn't know that. I'm going to email the embassy and ask if they would consider making exceptions on that since the delays were all caused by covid. Anyway, thanks again for sharing. All the best!!

Is this for K1 visas? or only CR1/IR1?

Either way its great news!! (If its K1 then of course its better news... haha)

I believe only for spousal And children of US citizens currently. I will keep my fingers crossed that they restart K1 visas soon!! :)

I've been fighting that fight with them for months now. They say they won't extend them. The DOS has apparently said they'll extend them by 30 days, but montreal keeps telling me they won't. Good luck.

Thanks! My medical expires on Sep 5. Emailed montreal regarding the medical and they said it is valid for 7 months. They said just to attend the interview and they will review medical validity then. Are you or anyone retaking medical?

Mine has already expired since July 30. With the new 1 month extension it would still expire end of August, so most likely I'll have to redo it before they get to the K1s from March and April 😕 ah well

Did you have your medical way earlier than your interview date?

my fiance's medical has some time before expire date due to extension but I'm not sure if they will get to K1 before that.

Keep our fingers crossed!

I had my medical done January 30 and my interview booked March 18. I was too busy to book one in Feb so yeah, mine's already expired 😕

I don't mind getting one done, I'm just wondering how long they will take to get through the CR1/IR1 first

With the 1 month extension mine will expire October 13. I had mine done on March 13th. Being that my visa is a CR-1 and I  originally had an April 6th interview, I'm really really hoping they will accept mine cause I don't think I will have time to get a new medical done. I'm visiting my husband in the US right now and planning to head home mid September. With 2 weeks of quarantine factored into the equation it would be a tight squeeze to get a medical done, assuming that I might get rescheduled for early October. But who knows. Let's see what happens. All we can do is take things day by day.
