i’m sure this has been answered before but i can’t seem to find it. For how long are the police background checks good for?

Rcmp records are good for a year

To add to this, they need to be within 1 year at INTERVIEW, so if it will be more than 1 year when you finally get your interview, you will need a new one.  I highly suggest not getting a new police cert until you have a positive interview date. ”

Hey guys anyone hear differently... the embassy website still showing Montréal has not resumed immigrant visas yet.... getting frustrated now

Well, it’s true they haven’t and they’ll do it from August 14 as per info provided by them. Wait until the first week of August and we may have more info on visa interviews!

Was this from their facebook?

If the 14 is incorrect, they should update the visa call centre then.

Our Congressman’s staffer has been reaching out to Montreal on our behalf. He had a chat with the department of state on Friday and they also indicated that Montreal is planning to resume routine services in August.

I think they just want to ensure that they have proper safeguards and a solidified plan in place before making an official announcement.

Great news, we were just told August and no date was given on call with the operator. So August could be wheels up and I hope they provide concrete dates as soon as we move in the month of Aug!
