Hi all, I am visiting Barbados for 3 weeks at the end of the month. I then have a funeral to attend in USA in September.

I have a valid ESTA, so I am wondering if it is possible to fly to the USA from barbados as I have not been "Physically Present" within the UK or restricted areas within the past 14 days.

It is not clear on the government websites if this is possible or not. As it just says "All aliens who were physically present within the United Kingdom, excluding overseas territories outside of Europe, or the Republic of Ireland during the 14-day period preceding their entry or attempted entry into the United States"

Any advice would be greatly appreciate as x2 very close family members within the USA passed away and I would love to attend their funeral.

It's not a problem unless Barbados has a ban or Barbados gets added to the US restricted country list.

(I presume you mean memorial rather than funeral?) But yes, people have been reporting able to enter after being in a non-banned country for 14 days. Make sure you can prove the length of time since leaving a banned area. And keep an eye on developments as things change all the time. I presume you’ve already checked the requirements Barbados has instituted.

Hi Ismee,

I am now actually in the US! I was in Barbados for 3 weeks before flying to the US. I didn't have any issues getting into the US on the border.

On arrival, CPS just asked me the usual questions - What i am doing in the country, how long I am here for etc.
