My husband chose this morning to drop the bomb on me that he's been faking it these last couple of years and he's been lying to me about loving me.

So we're getting a divorce.

I will be coming to America on Sunday, but he won't be. The weird thing is...I'm not even really upset. I'm just angry about having wasted the last six years of my life on such a fcuking coward.

You are NOT an idiot. You fell in love with him for some reason that was valid at the time, although it may no longer be valid. He's an idiot, and greater still, an out-and-out cad for keeping you in Britain longer than you wanted, at great personal cost to you.

As someone who's recently come out of the UK divorce procedure, be careful about what you take. I'd recommend giving back to him anything that truly is his alone. You want a clean break, I assume, and acting in good faith at this early stage will help in the long run.

And I'll second mags -- let's keep this in the UK forum.

I'm so sorry though. He really should have said something sooner, if he was afraid of how you would react, what reaction did he think he would get from you by telling you he faked it for the last few years and kept you away from your home while doing it?!?

I guess he will be the one to file for divorce since you have to be a Texas resident for 6 months before you can file, your county may have different rules though, Nueces was 6 months I think. I hope he wasn't planing on that just to have the home field advantage.
