You can say ''excuse me, but your behavior is inapropriate. I'd like to be left alone'' get up and sit somewhere else. Or you can take and iPod with you and listen to music the entire trip. Or you can get a book, like a learning book of whatever and say you can't chat because you really have to study.

I'm not sure this guy gets things like social cues or rejection...

*sigh I am thinking more along the lines of buying a bike and biking to work :)

Morning, all. I'm trying to wake up here.... blah.

Emancipation... that sucks. Personally, I'd opt for bluntly telling the guy you don't want to talk to him and would appreciate it if he left you alone, as even the strongest of hints seems to have no effect on people like that. I seem to attract those people like a magnet, I know about these things - I'm done with the polite 'hoping they'll take the hint' stuff!

But then again, biking to work could be a good plan... but don't do it because you've been driven to it by that guy!

biking to work is a great idea. If the roads weren't so dangerous here I'd definitely do that. Not everyday, no biking in the rain or snow :P . It's a great exercise. I had this job in 2002 that I used to bike everyday (except when it rained), I didn't go to the gym, was just swimming twice a week and I was in a great shape.

I think if i didn't have this run in as a child it might be easier for me to say - buzz off you are a creep.. perhaps that's what i need to do to get back my sanity.. honestly it's shaken me up (the only explanation I have is the stuff from when i was a kid)..

*sigh... anyway i hate living in fear.. lived like that with my ex husband.. WON'T go back to that again.

Sigh... I used to bike to work every day for 2 or 3 years (and then a couple of times a week after that)... when I did it every day, it saved me a TON of money, and I was really fit too. Cycling is great... you get fit without even feeling like you're making that much effort. Plus you have to get to work somehow, so why not get in shape while you're doing it?

Hmm, I want a new bike! Sold my old one before I left London... I realllly miss cycling.

Unfortunately I don't have any advice for you. I would be just as freaked out as you were and I didn't have any thing happen to me when I was a child like you did. If he had grabbed my hand I probably would have said something then got up and moved if I could. Sorry I can't help you any.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

GOOD MORNING!!! TGIF!!!

I probably would have been the same way...pretty freaked out especially if he grabbed my hand. If you aren't wanting to say something directly to him I have a couple of ideas not sure if you can do them but anyways...

Could you catch another bus or catch the bus at a different time or at another bus stop? It may be a bit of an inconvienence but for security and sanity it might be worth it, at least for a while.

Also could a friend, family member or even your husband drive you to work for a couple days or maybe ride the bus with you...maybe if he saw you chatting it up with another person it would deter him.

I agree that social cues obviously aren't working so I don't know how good it would work to read or listen to music but its worth a try if you are comfortable.

Keep yourself safe whatever you do

You know switching routes is a GREAT idea.. why didn't i think of that.. it's just a nice walk to the next bus route, and would give me a good uphill climb coming and going!! Brilliant! :) I'll look into that.. I think it might work I'll check into it!

My hubby is going to pick me up today. And I can take a bus an hour later it is true.. I think he always takes the same time (4:30)..

That's great! I'm so happy and excited for him.

Just spoke to him and he's saying we'll still have to pay for the flight hours but if we can get him his theory courses for free. that would be a start.. *sigh.. it's so costly, but I know it's his dream in life, and i sooo want to make this happen for him..

I won't eat much I say.. I'll stop buying the "good shampoo".. anything to get him to flight school :)
