Well...

I went downstairs to get the letter...

I have a questionnaire... and I have a summons to appear for jury service... on august 7th at 8:30 am...

Ahhh... but wait... it says in the questionnaire... that if all my answers are in a shaded area then I qualify...

one of the questions is... are you a citizen of the US? and guess what? No is in the non-shaded area.... yaay... I am not qualified!!!

Funny...

I just filled the questionnaire online, and it says that a court's clerk will review my questionnaire and determine if I am eligible or not... (and it has an asterisk on my answer regarding not being a citizen)...

I hope I am excused from this... though you're right... it might be kinda interesting to be in a jury...

My brother recently spent 3 weeks with a boring financial civil trial & hated every painstaking minute of it. SOme jobs won't pay for you to be away either. And jury duty pays like $40 a day.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt
