I hear that a lot too, but it didn't annoy me.

When I say something and I think they don't understand what I'm saying they say ''excuse me?''.I thought they going to pass and I give way. :D and they look at me like :hehe::blink: .

me and hubby's first ever phone conversation was full of excuse me's .... I couldn't really understand him because he was a little drunk and that made his accent stand out even more.... we didn't call each other again for over a month ...

I don't say it as much as people do, mostly if someone is on my way or if I pass by someone at the supermarket that is looking at the shelves trying to decide what to buy and I have to pass in front of the person, and sometimes when I'm in a good mood (yeah, that happens occasionally) I am super extremely polite and I just say excuse me all the time like a happy camper :P

I'm bored. Since we're talking about politeness, let's post here examples of polite behavior. I'll start:

- When you're eating at a table with other people, it's polite to wait for everybody to be sitted before start eating and for everybody to finish eatting before leaving the table (with exceptions, like children can't wait so they say excuse me and leave the table, or people that need to leave earlier, etc)

PS: even though when you don't sit at a table but for example you and your SO are eating together on a couch, it's polite to wait til both are sitting there with their plates to start eatting and it's totally rude to chew your food really fast and get up and leave *cough*

that'sforyouhubster

*cough*

it is not just rude to eat very fast, it isn't very healthy  your food won't digest properly...

Start slowing things down at your next meal because eating too quickly isn’t doing you favours. Hoovering in your food at warp speed will not only make you look like you just walked out of the Neolithic ages, it also encourages weight gain.

I agree Marilyn, it is totally unhealthy. He uses the excuse that he was in the military and he'd either eat fast or not eat blah blah blah.. and that was decades ago, things change, we're not in war, we won't run out of food, the food won't disappear from your plate after 3 minutes

  @ Nessa and Charles

My grandfather used to wrap his arm around his plate when he ate. We used to kid him about it getting up and walking away. I tend to eat too fast at times. It always comes back to bite me though. It makes my acid reflux act up. I should have that figured out by now, but no, I still eat too fast sometimes.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!
