Oh I hope you feel better! That would be soooooo painful (F)

I got robbed  on Thursday evening. That's why I haven't been around. Hope everyone's doing well. I've had better days, but then again-we all make our own beds.

:o OMG! I hope you and everyone is ok! Let us know if you need anything

They stole my purse off my shoulder. It had my wallet with my credit cards, check card, SS card, and check book as well as my passport, health insurance cards, vehicle registration, etc etc... They didn't hurt me though. And they didn't get my license, keys, or cell phone...so I consider myself lucky.

wow. At least you're ok. (F)

Now sorry to ask, but why do you carry all that? I carry my CC, check book (I never use neither, but just in case, since I never carry much money), military ID and driver's license (because I need them everyday with me to drive and to work), but that's it. Vehicle reg stays in the car, ss card, passport, health insurance, all at home. Maybe I should carry my health insurance card, never thought of that.

Ever since I was in college and learned the importance of having your health insurance card with you have I started to always carry it. Inevitably, if it's not there I'll forget it. I have also always carried my SS card even though they tell you not to. The rest is just due to disorganization-passport is still in there from my last trip to Mexico, vehicle registration from when I got my emmissions test done (I don't normally carry my registration in my car so I stuck it in my purse). I got a new purse now and believe me I will be very careful from now on what all goes into it and it will be a bare minimum.

I'm not really sure but what ended up happening to me was I went to college without an insurance card at all...and every time I had to go to the doctor or fill a prescription I had to have my parents fax me a copy...it was such a pain in the butt! I think a few times since I've gotten my own insurance I've gone to a doctor's appointment only to find out I forgot my insurance card...and that's a pain too. After that I just started carrying it at all times--just in case.

ah gotcha. I guess the worst part about having your documents robbed is the pain to have to get them all over again. That happened to me in Brazil and it's endless bureaucracy, money wasted and time to get them all over again. And then there're this order, you can only get a new driver's license if you show your ID card and the ID card takes 1 month.
