I like to prepare thicker, then you put half in a big bowl, and put some cheese in it, and then put the other half and then a home made tomato sauce and then more cheese. The cheese melts, it's delicious. And when you cut it has the texture of a pie. Now I feel like making some :P

Ok now that sounds so good!

I'll try to compose a recipe and send it to you, k?

That is cornbread not polenta!

Polenta is like mushy cornbread, usually served with cheese in it - yum or like Nessa said as 'fries'.

Well if you call cornbread maybe here it is.

I use polenta mix, mixed with chicken broth (homemade, like you cook chicken and then use the broth) or you can mix with water and some salt, in a pan, stirring until it gets very think. Then I do like I said, put half in a bowl, while still hot, then add lots of cheese, then put the other half, then cheese and tomato sauce (also homemade - tomatoes, onions, garlic, oregano and basil). After it gets colder it has a texture similar to that one above, it isn't thick like a bread, it's like the texture of the cheese of a cheesecake you know?

cornbread

n. Bread made from cornmeal.

polenta

n. A thick mush made of cornmeal boiled in water or stock

[italian, from Latin, crushed grain, barley meal.]

Same thing really except sometimes American cornbread is a bit sweet & usually served hot with butter.

We have cornbread in Brazil but it's sweet, like a corn cake.

I never tried to find polenta, maybe I'll try tomorrow. I'll see if maybe in the mexican part of the supermarket I can find polenta mix. That's where I find most things that resembles brazilian food, that and on the german part also.

So as it turns out I don't like polenta :( Which is weird bc I LOVE corn. I think it's the texture..

I forgot to comment on this, you don't like it because of the taste or because it looks nasty and you assimilate to something yucky?

Like my husband, if he sees anything green or that resembles vegetables he says he doesn't like, even though he refuses to try it :P
