I'm leaving early today to get my hair done. Thank goodness, my roots are scary. I dread the price tag I have to pay though. It was over $100 last time. Probably will be this time too. He better be glad he's good and there's no other hair dresser around here that is as good as he is.

I colour my own hair

i need to do it again but I wanted to get a haircut first....

My husband just LOOKED at me  when I told him that's how much it costs to have my hair colored (it's halfway down my back). I told him if I can cut it it would be cheaper! ;) He passed me his VISA tee hee..

Mine is about to my bra strap so it's pretty long too. And it's very dark brown, almost black. You can see from my picture that it's pretty blond. I get highlights and another color put on it. I now have two sets of roots, one from the highlights and one from the lighter brown color. It's really bad. I def need to get it done and know it's going to cost a small fortune since my roots are so bad.

maybe I should take some pepto but I really hate the taste :P

I hate what it does to my poo :(

  that was funny

I dye my own hair also. And my hair is very long, it's close to my underwear :P And I only use 1 hair dye, I dye the roots, then I wait a little bit, I fill up the rest with cheap hair conditioner and then I spread to the rest of the hair. I spend less than $ 20.00 a month to have my hair dyed (I dye twice a month). Once I was checking just to have an idea of the prices, I'd spend at least $ 130.00 not counting the gas to get there and the tip if I were to dye in a beauty saloon.

I dye my own hair too. Naturally brown, I dye it black-once every 4 weeks. My hair is down to the middle of my back and we use 2 bottles. One thing I've noticed is that my hair is falling out a lot more since I've been dying it but I can't let it be natural-too much gray!

I think mine was $130 the last time I got it done. That was highlights and a cut. I don't have to worry about gas because it's on my way home from work so I'm going that way anyway. Plus, I don't tip because he's the owner of the salon. He's getting all my money so I ain't giving him a tip. I actually have no idea what my hair would look like if I let it be natural because it's been colored for so long. I don't think I have too much gray because I don't see it in my roots. I just hate my natural color, it's too dark for my skin tone.

Same here. I'm 28 years old (looking 21, btw :P) and I started to use shampoo to make it a bit lighter when I was 12 (that my stepmom introduced to me) then at 14 I started to dye red, then I tried to dye black (didn't look good on me) then back to red the same week I think, then red until I was 20 when I decided to try a color similar to my natural, which I've been doing until today. Still I don't really know how my hair would look like if it was natural, because even thought I know the color of the roots, if my hair was this long and never dyed it wouldn't be the same color as my roots, because of the sun, etc.

I want to get one of these.... I wonder if it works...

i have really thick hair and it is a pain in the butt to dry it... I usually just let it air dry... but I like how my hair looks after I get it cut and they blow it out.... it take them half an hour to 45 minutes just to blow out my hair...

My mom said her hair started getting grey when she was 30 something. But my dad is like almost 60 and not even 1/4 of his hair is grey, good genes, oh and his mother she's like 1000 years old and only half her hair is grey. I'm hoping I'm like this side of the family.

Yeah, I haven't seen my natural color in years. I'm 29(looking 21, lol) and I've been coloring my hair since I was in middle school. My mom used to do things to it when I was in elementary school. But that was off and on. It's been red, blond, almost white blond, purple, green, and I think that's about it. Of course, the purple and green weren't on purpose.

I know when people ID me they're just trying to compliment me in a way, I doubt they think I'm under 21.
