Hi there. I have a few questions regarding the online I-130 as my Wife and I are currently filling it out.

1) For employment and address history, how important is it to put exact dates? My spouse (petitioner) has had many addresses and jobs in the past 5 years and really only knows the month/year, and not exact days.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can complete this section (online)?

Should we estimate a day or just leave the day blank and only put month and year?

2) this adds on to the previous question, but where online can we add additional information? We want to put an explanation as to why the dates arent exact, but theres no area on the online application to write this.

3) for the section asking about the petitioner's parents, my spouse put all information down for her father - but we put "unknown" for his current location/residence as we truly dont know as she is estranged from him. Is this okay?

Thank you all in advance. We are hoping to file by the end of this month and truly start the Visa Journey haha

Thank you for this.

We also had some questions about the "When does the beneficiary's authorized stay expire?".

I am not staying in the US presently. I visted for 10 days in February, and currently 8 days in July. What would the date of arrival and date of expirey be?

I could be wrong but I believe the question is for beneficiaries currently in the US.

We can't get past the address history part. How do we indicate that we currently live in an address? The "to" field only accepts numbers in the format MM/DD/YYYY. Help!

We are also stuck there. What we did is put present date (just update it right before filing so it reflects the most current date) then we made a note under "additional information" stating the petitioner still lives there. Although i am unsure how to do it for myself as i am doing the I130A on paper. It is much easier to do everything online.

If you figure this out please let me know. Hopefully someone can help us.

Will do! And i thought that is what i had to do but i also realized i can type it out and attach it as a PDF. So that always works. We are pretty much almost done - we just have documents to upload, evidences, and then to finalize it. So we are aiming by the end of the month to have it filed.

Thank you, i hope so. We are slightly worried it might be an issue we had no witnesses at our courthouse ceremony but it was just recently done and during covid the courthouse wasnt allowing witnesses. We were hoping to explain this but there isnt really a section to explain evidences on thebonline application.

Use the date you sign/submit the form. That is same as mentioning CURRENT or TO-DATE in previous versions.

Awesome, thanks.

Does anyone know if USCIS cares how we comingle our finances? I (beneficiary) want to add my US Citizen spouse to my 2 bank accounts. She also is already an authorized user on a US credit card i have.Is it okay if she doesnt add me to hers?

I am from Canada and right now we both dont have wills or property or assets to add both our names too. We are going to do all that once I get visa and actually move to the states.

I have heard of some being able to upload a "cover letter" and/or a timeline of their relationship. I hope someone can confirm. Everything will be fine. :)

I was thinking of doing this. Did you just write or type it out and attached it?

Also online, should we compile all evidences into one mass PDF or it is fine to upload multiple files? We have:

- joint bank statement, authorized credit card user statement, statement of spouse being added to 401k beneficiary

- photos together, skype logs, timeline, travel tickets, wedding letter/gift from family members, premarital course certificate with both our names, etc

Does anyone know if the files we upload (e.g. birth certificate, marriage certificate, photos, joint finance statements) do they need to be named/formatted in a certain way?

Or for a birth certificate, for example, we can upload it as PDF named "Birth Certificate"?
