NB... she treated her without the care of a doctor, using a Zpack and HCQ (who knows where she obtained this and without knowing if it was safe to use them on her with her condition). She also used 'herbs' and oxygen formulated for the grandfather, meanwhile her daughter became sicker and sicker. When finally brought the hospital the mother refused to put the daughter on a vent until it was too late. You should never do what this family did to this child, especially with such a condition. I am horrified. Child abuse. The girl needed actual real lifesaving care.

The story only said she, the mother, is a nurse.  That is a fairly generic term, is she an LPN, an RN, an NP?  The story appears to be a clear hit piece, but what do we expect from the media today.

I don't know what 'nurse' she is, but she's not qualified because she contributed to the death of her child. I've read numerous articles on this story. Woman is crazy and should be in jail.

I disagree.  The daughter died in a hospital.  Should she have gone sooner?  Probably.  But I for one don't go to a doctor or a hospital unless I am severely ill.  It's pretty much a last recourse for me.

Gave child medication without the care of a doctor, combined with her health condition is very dangerous. Refused lifesaving treatment at the hospital until it was too late.

Wait til' the last minute and you'll be dead under these circumstances. God gives us a brain for a reason..

Also.. a year or so ago, my husband was in terrible pain for two weeks, and I kept telling him to get to a hospital or I'd kick his butt. No no no he said, I'm fine (cue agonizing groan as his wife grew more concerned). Waited until the very last minute, doubled over finally to get to the hospital. He received quite a lecture from the doctor at the ER, of how he waited almost so long he could have gotten sepsis and needed surgery. Oh he thought he wasn't that ill, but he was. What would have been a few hundred dollars turned into a few thousand. I have no patience for people that their own stupidity and negligence results in the death of their children. I had enough stupidity from my own parents 'praying it out' and not seeking care for me as a child, and I'm fiercely protective when I see junk like this. You are a grown adult and if you want to let yourself get to that point fine. But when it comes to your kids? Some people don't belong having them clearly.

Yes, but the she was a minor which has far more serious actions, than if you decide to endanger your own health. Therefore her parents are responsible. Her mother, who supposedly had some undetermined amount of Medical training, let a Cancer patient with an auto immune disorder not receive  proper medical care for almost 2 weeks.  She also evidently gave her medicine she was not authorized and her grandfathers oxygen. They also wanted to put her on a vent which they refused for 3 days, finally giving consent shortly before she died.

Seriously you cant think, that is not neglect.

Some might argue that having the Vid and being placed on a ventilator is not really a life saving measure.  The biggest failing I see here is allowing an immunocompromised person to attend a mass gathering.  As to treating the daughter, again, if she is an NP, she has that ability, but one thing we do not know from this hit piece story is if the mother did actually talk to a physician.  Treating her daughter with prescription meds, unless she is an NP, would require a Dr. unless you are suggesting she got her hands on the meds in another way.

All the other stuff I agree with.  But oxygen is oxygen, it doesn't belong to anyone.

And if she was deemed critically ill by the doctors in the hospital, they should have put her on a vent anyway.  Not sure the reason for avoiding the ventilator, but I'm sure she had what she thought amounted to a good one.  There has to be more to this story than we are being told...

And giving the child that medication in her compromised state is very dangerous. If she has any medical training, she would not do what she did to her child. It's so upsetting to me...

I think  they would need a court order to put her on a vent against parents wishes. Maybe Steel can clarify

Understandable, but just like other treatments out there, being on a vent is only partially effective, just like hydroxychloriquine.  There are studies out there that show more people who are seriously sick are better off not on a vent, but I agree, if someone is that serious and they survive, they will not complain.

Don't let Dad off the hook here. He's a physician's assistant which involves a considerable amount of formal medical education and training. He's as much to blame for what happened to his daughter.
