But it is true that her mother took her to a church party, and then treated her with hydroxychloroquine so what am I missing? That's accurate. What a sad story though.

NB... she treated her without the care of a doctor, using a Zpack and HCQ (who knows where she obtained this and without knowing if it was safe to use them on her with her condition). She also used 'herbs' and oxygen formulated for the grandfather, meanwhile her daughter became sicker and sicker. When finally brought the hospital the mother refused to put the daughter on a vent until it was too late. You should never do what this family did to this child, especially with such a condition. I am horrified. Child abuse. The girl needed actual real lifesaving care.

Oh agree 100% and you read the story and summarized it very accurately. You and I both know that headline was politically driven by two very controversial subjects that are hot buttons for liberals and conservatives.

This case is why I’m glad that my church is being cautious about opening up the building for services again. Not open as of yet. The other part of me says that even if my church was open that I would take precautions because I have an auto immune condition. The mother should have made the decision to not take her, in my opinion, as in phase 2 here in Florida if you are immune comprised or elderly you are to avoid large crowds. I would think a party of 100 meets this criteria. Better safe than sorry. I am really getting tired of people crying “got to have more faith” cause it is costing lives. In my opinion, we were given a brain and reasoning to use.

Spot on and welcome to the back alley of VJ.

I have some very good friends who raised some messed up kids. I have known those boys since early teens and always. said they would be in jail one day and I was right. Mom thought giving anything they asked for and being a doormat was love. Anybody who dared question her kids got an ear full. You know the drill, drugs, alternative school, stealing.

Anyway when they use to get in trouble, their answer was always. We just trust God will work it out. It us to infuriate me and I would say God gave them parents for a reason

If politicians would quit doubling down on stupid, it might be less politically driven. The US has done the worst job of anyone with Covid-19. One of the reasons for that is politicians who can't step back from poor decisions and make a course correction.

Religion AND HCQ?  The mother is going to hell for sure.

Look over there, a SHINY OBJECT!!  (opposite direction of the auto-immune disorder and cancer)

Just... sad.  Poor kid.

You summed it up nicely

Sounds like they changed the headline.

Update: This story was updated to include a statement from the First Assembly of God and a comment from the Fort Myers medical examiner's office.

I think the question is with the original headline that insinuated it was specifically a “coronavirus” church party.  I have been hearing rumors of younger folks having Covid parties around the country.  Activism in the media at its best.
